Karen Schwarzis a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, a Certified Master Neurolinguistic Programmer, a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse counselor, and has a Master's Degree in Psychology.
She has provided mental health and chemical dependency counseling in both the private and public sector since 1984, for agencies and in private practice, has supervised other counselors, and has directed an outpatient chemical dependency program.
Karen has over 170 hours of hypnotherapy training, and has successfully provided hypnotherapy services since 2006.
She has presentated trainings to other professionals on Counselor Ethics, Counselor/Client Relationships, Diagnosing Substance Abuse and Dependence, Hypnosis, and Group Therapy Process. She has also presented education workshops to divorcing parents, enabling them to keep their struggles separate from children's needs.
Karen completed alcohol/drug evaluations for federal and local agencies, courts, attorneys and employers.
Karen practiced divorce mediation for several years, enabling couples to negotiate mutually acceptable agreements, increasing the amount of cooperation between parents regarding child-related issues.
She has also been a successful recipient of hypnosis as a competitive athlete, winning a 1987 national powerlifting championship.
