David J Otto, LMT BCTMB, attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English – Secondary Education in 1991. In 2001, he attended and was certified as a Professional Massage Therapist at the Utah College of Massage Therapy (UCMT), Nevada Campus.
In the 23+ years since: David worked as a licensed massage therapist with the Ritz-Carlton for 9 years in Henderson, NV; in 2003, he opened and continues his massage practice, Hands In Motion , in the Las Vegas Valley and instructed massage therapy students at UCMT, Nevada campus , regarding their professional development and other massage modalities for 6 years; David, in 2004, attended the Chiangmai, Thailand, TMC School for a 90-hour Traditional Thai Massage Thai government & NCBTMB certification; David worked with Drift Spa at Palms Place, in Las Vegas, NV, Oct 2008 - Oct 2012, as a massage therapist. He also co-founded, -developed, and -operated the Bodywork Concierge in 2008 for 2 years , a marketing/networking business in Henderson, NV, for bodyworkers and bodywork clients; and, in 2009, co-founded the Nevada Nonprofit Organization MWR Project Inc , to facilitate a large-scale, simultaneous massage therapy session to benefit a local healthcare-/medical-condition-related 501(c) Charity and the Massage Therapy Foundation in a one-day, occasional Expo, Attempt at the Guinness World Record®, and Public & Professional education-based course offering.
He served the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) Nevada Chapter for 18 years, most-notably as its Chapter President, and in other roles: Government Relations and Communications Committee Chairs, AMTA-NV.org Webmaster, Newsletter Editor, and 1st Vice- & Immediate-Past Presidents. David also co-organized, 2007-2010, the Las Vegas Massage Therapy Meetup networking group.
