A firm believer that “The Good Stuff is in the Middle,” Dr. Patt Schwab, CSP, shows midlevel leaders how to use humor to enhance productivity, increase energy and enrich their life in and out of the workplace. She has a special interest in long-term care, where staff burnout and turn-over can curtail a staff’s momentum.
Patt’s doctorate is in management. Her thesis, on team building, was titled: People Support What They Help Create. After working at a variety of universities, Patt is now president of FUNdamentally Speaking, an international speaking and consulting business that believes in putting the "FUN" before "da-mental." Patt speaks throughout Europe, Canada and the USA encouraging audiences to look inside themselves for a humorous perspective on workplace problems and challenges.
Dr. Schwab holds the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation. It is the highest earned designation of the National Speakers Association, held by less than 10% of speakers worldwide.

Wow your audience with a program packed with humor, insight, and practical tips for attendees interested in improving their skills at:
1. Managing staff
There are two ways to build a team in a hurry: a shared crisis and shared laughter. Laughter is the cheaper, less stressful way to go! In her presentation, Leave a Mark, Not a Stain!
Patt shows supervisors how to use humor to create a collaborative team atmosphere that fights burn-out and embraces service.
2. Managing change
In When Hell Freezes Over—Ice S.K.A.T.E!
Patt unveils a fun, easy to remember, formula to keep staff engaged and positive while moving through changes as varied as an organizational realignment or a crash in the economy. (OK, maybe those aren’t all that unrelated. How about: The loss of a client, the loss of a job or simply the loss of one’s equanimity? At least there is some alliteration there.)
3. Managing to have more fun From the beginning of time people have come together over three things: food, music and laughter. Laughing together helps make the connections that allow us to over-look differences and focus on a common goal. Patt shares fun, easy to remember models for using humor to connect positively with clients, friends and family.
Attendees learn that they don’t have to be clowns to bring playfulness to their workplace. (Depending on the presentation, they may, however, leave with a deeper appreciation of rubber chickens!)
