Please, allow me to introduce myself. I am a Certified Executive Professional
Coach and Consultant in executive etiquette and protocol. As Chief Officer of
Protocol for my town and co-author of the newly released book “Executive
Etiquette Power, " I have pioneered an "Advant Garde" approach to etiquette
utilizing psychological tenets with protocol for business success and social
finesse.
Today’s focus in going green has also reached the etiquette profession, but not exactly in the same manner as what Al Gore or other environmentalist might define as going green.
With the high cost of running a company, business or corporation, whether it is client and employee retention or finding energy efficiency programs of going green, the concepts of hybrid is etiquette's new twist. However, Etiquette's meaning of going green is a large ROI as in green - money on a company's return on investment in hiring an executive etiquette coach.
Wikipedia lists the hybrid as “a vehicle that uses two or more distinct power sources to propel the vehicle”. Executive Coaching and etiquette are the two distinct power source of the hybrid to propel business today.
Today’s business climate, business etiquette has become even more important. Hungry to retain workers in the slump labor market of recent and the government salivating for the next company "too big to fail," business etiquette is now essential. business' rely on executive etiquette and professional coaching in two main training areas: Internally, to groom their junior or entry level employees to prepare for their ascent, and externally, to prepare their leaders to execute flawlessly the company when meeting, dining or socializing with customers, especially global, board of director and clients while increasing their ROI.
IBM's Vice President of global executive and organizational capability, Michael Markovits, recites the research that shows leadership behavior has a direct impact on climate and climate has a direct impact on business results. We invest because we are going to be a better-performing company as a result.
By applying powerful business etiquette, directly and indirectly, enhances your company’s bottom line. To be competitive in today's market, you MUST differentiate yourself from your competitors!
Business etiquette "know-how" is a differentiating asset of enormous value that raises the talent level of your employees. It is no longer a quagmire of your grandmother's rules of etiquette but a rapid power-tool in establishing rapport and inducing compliance for success and using your "soft skills" for that "hard kill."
In fact, these skills are so important in the workplace, a survey by two University of Massachusetts economists found that 86 percent of employers consider them to be among their most important hiring criteria. Thus, for those college graduates, executive etiquette programs should be a "no-brainer” that companies are recognizing that etiquette and protocol knowledge is a form of business intelligence.
Thank you for your time in reviewing my personal perspective on etiquette. My academic credentials with a Bachelor of Psychology from Loyola University of the South and graduate studies in forensics, criminal justice and law has lead me into a lifetime quest of human behavior and the relationship to civility.
Certified by the American School of Protocol opened the necessary doors to applying my psychological background to etiquette. Some of my etiquette arsenal includes a hybrid that integrates executive psychology, etiquette, coaching, behavior shaping, image perception and science of influence. I am happy to offer my expertise to you in this new realm of etiquette consultation.
