What is considered a low sex drive for females?

There is often a sexual desire discrepancy between the male and female. I like to first emphasize that just because you have a lower sex drive than your partner does not necessarily mean there is something wrong with you. What this means is that you need to be aware of this difference and together come with creative ways to fulfil both your sexual needs.

Libido, or what we call the sex drive, is primarily driven by hormones. Hormonal imbalance is that most common reason for low libido – and most women are not even aware of it. I would encourage getting a physical that includes hormonal check to make sure that all is in order. Treatment must be administered by a doctor trained in hormone therapy after a full history, examination, and laboratory testing. Regular follow-up is important to control symptoms, prevent side effects, and make sure hormone levels are optimal.

Tiredness is another factor. It’s hard to get in the mood or have any real desire when you’ve been working long hours or when you haven’t been sleeping well. Stress, anxiety, and depression are other factors. Lifestyle approaches such as optimal diet, regular exercise, reduce stress and worry, take on new challenges, talk more freely about your midlife anxieties and reduction of tobacco and alcohol intake can help arrest the decline of aging .

With some creativity, imagination and planning, both passion and excitement can be sustained in sexual intimacy regardless of age.
