We can all agree that a good attitude means everything. A good attitude makes positive things happen. But what do you do on those days when everything just seems to go wrong? You can shift that energy from bad to good. Here are some useful tips to help you.

1) Quick Meditation -sit is a chair, relax, eyes closed, and take 5 deep breaths. When you breathe in you should feel it all the way to your stomach. When you exhale you should feel all of the negativity being released from your body, and extra weight be expelled every time you exhale. Your shoulders should feel lighter every time you exhale. When you inhale, think of a stream flowing through a forest. Again, breathe in good positive thoughts and see the wild flowers growing in the forest. Again, inhale and see the blue skies and the white fluffy clouds. Exhale all the tension that is stored inside you; just release it with every breath. Just relax. Breathe and relax.

2) Dig deep-everyone has something that is positive that happens to them on a daily basis, but sometimes we have to dig deep in order to remember them. We are so busy and so overwhelmed by negativity that it drowns out the positive things. If you back track your day from the beginning you will begin to see all of the positive things that have been said or that have happened to you. It could be a compliment, or a smile, or a simple gesture, such as somebody waving to you. Think about all the people that you come across on a daily basis. If you take the bus or the train, your favorite place to stop and grab that cup of coffee. The guy at the newspaper stand, he is always happy to see you. Your fellow co-workers are happy you are there today; it helps divide out the workload. If you think back throughout your day, you will see all the positives that were there, but were over shadowed by all the negatives.

Your day is what you make it. Not only do you have to reflect on other people’s attitude but it’s a good idea to check your own. Were you pleasant to the lady at the drive through? Did you tip the waitress enough? You not only control your day, but you have an impact on others as well.
