For decades, people have been trying to make their own concoction of creams that they can use to have smooth and clearer skin on the face. This is actually the backbone of every modern face creams that are on display on health and online shops today. However, the frustration of a lot of consumers is that despite the volumes of products that are made available only a handful of them actually work. Let alone working excellently.
Homemade Face Creams
The answer to the question if you can make a face cream out of carrot juice is “YES”. But it may be easier said than done. You would have to be able to come up with an effective formulation. A cream is a mixture of an oil base ingredient and a water base united by an emulsifier agent. It has to be thicker than lotion as the use of different quantities of other ingredients differs to a great extent. The carrot juice is a less potent source of Vitamin A. What can be suggested is to use carrot oil instead. This has a higher concentration of Vitamin A and other properties that you can find in carrots such as anti aging ingredients. It is best though that you stick to drinking the juice instead of trying to make it as a cream.
The juice can do the inside work going out while the carrot oil used as a topical ingredient can work its way from the outside in.
You can make a face mask from the use of carrot juice though. The ingredients that you would need are carrot juice, of course, and powdered buttermilk. Mix the carrot juice and the powdered buttermilk in a small mixing bowl and use a wire whisk or glass stirrer. You can slowly add either of the two ingredients until you get a desired consistency. When done you need to cover it with a plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator and allow to sit for at least three hours. Afterwards mix it again and transfer in a glas jar with an air-tight lid. Spread over the face and the neck using your hands. Of course, you have to make sure that your hands are washed clean before application. Leave on the face for 15 minutes and rinse off with cold water. Pat your face dry with a clean cotton towel.
Drink Regularly
Make sure that you do not rely on the topical application alone but continue drinking carrot juice on a regular basis. Meeting the right amounts of vitamin A will get rid of the skin impurities, dry skin, rough and scaly skin, premature wrinkling, and acne. At least 8 oz of carrot juice at a time will help your body take in the drink effectively. Try to avoid too much consumption as this will result in a slightly yellow discoloration of the skin if taken in large doses in a matter of weeks. If you are in a hurry you can just splash the juice over your face and let dry then rinse off with cold water then pat dry. It may be high time that you buy yourself a really good juicer.
