The main idea behind writing articles is to get them read and direct traffic back to your website. You want as many targeted people to read your work and link back to your website where they will purchase your products and services. While you could print out thousands of copies of your articles on leaflets and go around your city distributing them or pass them out at networking events, there are many more time and cost effective methods.

1. Post them on your website. This is a great way for people who come to your site to read about your area of expertise. Articles on your site serve to boost your search engine rankings, as well as promote you and your business. Additionally readers will enjoy the content and come back often for more.

2. Use it in your ezine. If you already send out newsletters to your clients and subscribers, this is an easy add -on for you. If you don’t have an ezine, start one. With a list of your clients’ emails, you can send regular articles to them to keep them interested in what you are about. You can also offer your articles to other business owners to include in their ezines. This ensures that your target audience receives your valuable information. And because they asked for the ezine, you have a better guarantee they will read it.

3. Submit your article to article directories. You can submit your articles to one or more of these directories for just a few minutes of your time. Your article is kept on their site and viewers can read or use them by searching for keywords. Of course your name is in the resource box that must be used with a link to your site. So not only did you distribute your article, but when others use it, they have re-distributed it.

4. Submit your article to targeted sites. Do a search in google for sites that target your client base and offer them your articles to use on their website or ezine. Some people are lazy or pressed for time and they would be thrilled to have your free content. No labor for them, and lots of free PR for you.

Use these simple but effective tools to get your articles distributed and read. Increase your publicity and exposure, and watch your sales and profits increase as well!
