Ever wonder if having an RV antenna really makes a difference? Do you really need to have one? Or can you just get by without one? Let’s talk to two families , one that has an RV antenna and another that does not.

Do you have an RV antenna?

The Smiths: Yes

The Madisons: No

How do you stay up to date on news while traveling in your RV?

The Smiths: It’s easy. We just turn on our TV and pick any of our favorite news or major channels to see the local, national or international news. As a family we like to stay up to date on current events and having the RV antenna means we can watch the news anytime we please.

The Madisons: We’ll walk to the store and buy a paper and bring it back to the RV to read. This helps us stay current on news. The biggest challenge is that only one family member can read one section of the newspaper at a time.

How do you get the weather forecast while traveling in your RV?

The Smiths: We turn to the weather channel on our TV and look for our location. The best thing about having the RV antenna is that we can find the weather for our current location and also for our destination. This was especially helpful when we took the kids to the Grand Canyon last summer and stopped in Las Vegas on the way back, this was a big trip for us.

The Madisons: Usually we can get the weather forecast out of the newspaper. Sometimes when we go out to breakfast or lunch we’ll stop somewhere there is a television on and we can catch the weather forecast there. That is always a really lucky break.

How do you watch sporting events while traveling in the RV?

The Smiths: Dad and the boys especially like football and they’ve been able to watch every game without a fuss with the RV antenna. We get a crystal clear picture and haven’t had any trouble with it at all. This has been great, as you know sports games are so fast paced and you just don’t want to miss a moment of the action.

The Madisons: We try to attend sporting events sometimes but of course we can’t see sporting events in our RV. Sometimes this frustrates Dad and the boys a bit, as they like to follow their sports . But occasionally we can ask someone else as we are traveling if they know the score to the game and they like this.

What do you do on a rainy day while traveling in the RV?

The Smiths: That’s the perfect day to watch movies or other entertaining shows on our television in the RV. We’ll make snacks or even get a pizza and just make a great day of it. The best thing about getting such great reception is that we still get it even during stormy weather. We just never miss our shows day or night.

The Madisons: We try to make this a chore day where everyone does a bit of cleaning. The kids aren’t very happy about it, but it certainly gets a lot of things done. It is good to keep up with everything nicely. Then we spend time playing board game or reading. But we think the Smiths travel much better so we’re going to get an RV antenna to travel with from now on!
