There are fears around the planet about the financial crises now threatening every country in the world. The hasty governmental responses of throwing paper money at the problems that were created by irresponsible investments of banks is not going to solve these problems. Printing more money without anything to back it is going to create much worse inflation. This is not going to happen some time in the distant future. It is happening very quickly, right now.

People in countries that are seeing rapid devaluations of their currency are panicked about their life savings becoming worthless. For instance, in Iceland the Kroner is now worth only a third of the value it held two weeks ago. Similar devaluations are likely to happen in every country where banks have been irresponsible and governments are throwing newly printed money at the problems.

Fears and Worries vs Concerns

When we are confronted with anything that might harm us, our body's reflexive response is to go into adrenaline mode. We become tense, our blood pressure rises and we are ready to fight or flee. At the same time, our mind becomes hyper-alert in order to react quickly to any life-threatening dangers.

In a combat, in a highway accident, or in other situations where life and death are at stake, the adrenaline reaction may save our lives. In many other situations, however, we remain tensed up and have no muscular discharge of the adrenaline rush. This is what often happens when we are scared by financial challenges. We become tense and hyper-alert but have no way to unwind. When the threats of financial setbacks and hardships confront us, we may remain wound up over periods of weeks and months with anxieties, worries and fears about the worst possible outcomes we can imagine.

If we look back over our lives, we can usually recall similar times where we were in tense and scary situations before and felt similar worries and fears. Eventually they were resolved and were left behind.

Looking back on such experiences, it is rare to find anyone who believes that the worries and fears made anything better. In fact, our stressing over problems usually makes us feel considerably worse.

When we can convert fears and worries into concerns, we can deal with the frightening issues more constructively and can let go of needless suffering. This is like letting go of Woody Allen types of responses, such as:

"I can't handle this!"
"It’s driving me crazy!"
"I don't know what I'm going to do to myself if this continues!"
Or of responses an Eyore might come up with, such as:
"Oh, me! Oh, my!"
"Here we go again!"
"I don’t know if anyone could manage to find their way out of this one!"

Instead, we could adopt a Mr. Spock (from Star Trek) attitude :

"Please give me the facts so that I can figure out the probabilities of success and failure here.""I see that we’re going to collide with that asteroid in exactly sixteen hours, four minutes. Here are the steps we can take to avoid that."

Or we might take a Christopher Robin approach, saying:

"So, Piglet, what shall we do about this challenge?"

Letting go of negative feelings and thoughts

Have you ever wanted to not think about a purple camel? What happens when you start doing that? Most people find that even though they never thought of a purple camel before, now that they are wanting to stop thinking about it, they cannot do so intentionally.

You might well find it is the same with stress, worries and fears. Many people find it very difficult to stop thinking of the unpaid bills; the crisis in the global economy; shrinking value of retirement savings and investments; or the possibilities of layoffs. And these worries may eat at us until, like Woody Allen, we are running around in aimless circles, or moaning and looking for sympathy like Eyore.

Fortunately, a new method is now available for releasing anxieties and fears, called WHEE: Whole Health – Easily and Effectively. By reciting an affirmation that focuses the mind on your fears, while at the same time tapping on the right and left sides of the body, it is possible to release any fear within minutes.

'Tom' was a steady, reliable shipping manager who had worked for 22 years in the same export firm. He was shocked one day when he was called into the company president's office, to be told that his job was being eliminated. The firm had been bought out by a larger company, who were going to install their own shipping manager, and Tom's position was now redundant.

Tom was devastated. He became depressed and uncharacteristically irritable with his wife and children, his temper outbursts increasing as weeks passed without employment. He was unable to land a job despite submitting numerous applications and being called for several interviews. He criticized himself constantly over having lost his job, about his inability to land a job and to earn a living, as well as for being irritable and angry with his family. He worried over every expense, however small, that he worried would exhaust their retirement savings. His ruminations only made him more irritable, but he was unable to stop his mind. He had frequent tension headaches and found it difficult to fall asleep for several hours each night. Sometimes he also woke early in the morning and could not fall back asleep.

When his wife and children started experiencing similar worries, fears and irritability, they all agreed it was time for him to do something about his constant anxieties. Tom's family doctor correctly diagnosed a deepening depression and recommended antidepressants. Tom refused, having read that these could have unpleasant side effects and could be habituating.

Tom contacted me to request a phone consultation, after reading about WHEE on the internet. He was astounded to experience an immediate lightening of his self-criticisms as he learned to use the WHEE affirmations and tapping. Continuing to use WHEE on his own, he found his attitude improving as his fears and worries shifted into appropriate (but no longer excessive) concerns. He was pleased to be able to teach his wife and children to use this method as well, to deal with their anxieties and fears.

This is a typical example of how WHEE can be helpful. WHEE is easy to learn and use, rapidly and potently effective, and in most cases will permanently clear these sorts of issues and negative habits .

There are times when symptoms don't clear. In most therapies this is considered a limitation or failure of the therapy. With WHEE, this is actually found to be a positive experience. When self-criticisms or negative emotions do not clear, there are almost always blocking beliefs and disbeliefs that keep a person from letting go of their problems.

Tom phoned me a few weeks after his first session with this sort of problem. He had been improving pretty steadily, far less often critical of himself or angry with others, and sleeping much better. But he could not free himself of the memory of his boss telling him he was fired. He had gotten along well with this man for over a decade and felt deeply betrayed, even though he knew logically that his boss had had no choice in the matter.

We explored the 'file drawers' of Tom's memories for similar experiences in his past. To his surprise, he realized that his feelings towards his boss were similar to his feelings towards his father, who had divorced his mother when Tom was eleven. When Tom used WHEE to clear his long-buried feelings about his childhood trauma, his feelings towards his boss then cleared as well.

This is a very common experience with WHEE. Within minutes, it is possible to clear feelings that have been present for decades.

What people appreciate particularly about WHEE is that each time negative feelings and thoughts are cleared, they can install positive ones to replace whatever they have released. It is not uncommon to have people let out a loud "Whee!" as they come into these better inner spaces.
