Entrepreneurship is making business out of what you are passionate about and love doing. When you do what you love, work is just an enjoyable game. You achieve a lot in the shortest time because you love what you do. In this regard owning your own business or becoming an entrepreneur does not necessarily mean building a conglomerate. It is about moving your talents and skills into business. You can be in someone’s company and do that on part-time bases or concentrate entirely on yours, whichever way, you are in business. The pessimists have asked “if we all go into our own business, who will do someone’s business?” the answer is simple, we won’t have everybody do their own business. The truth is that not all have what it takes to succeed in business. The focus now is the potential entrepreneur who needs to be spurred on. Here are five reasons why you must be an entrepreneur :

1. God wants it so: It is the plan of God to bless you. He said in the Holy Bible that he will bless the work of your hands. In my opinion the work of your hand is the business you choose to do-it is the business you are in charge of. For example your home business , the garden at your backyard that provides you some amount of income, the company you set up to provide services to the public. Throughout the Holy Bible the people God blessed massively were those who owned their own cattle, farm and did other trade activities. Talk about Abraham, David and Solomon. In Genesis 13:4-6 the bible said “And Abraham went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai; Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD. And Lot also, which went with Abraham, had flocks, and herds, and tents. And the land was not able to bear them-Abraham and Lot, that they might dwell together: for their substance-cattle, goat, sheep, crops etc. was great, so that they could not dwell together”.

2. Employment creation: There are thousands of people who are out there looking for jobs every day. Several are in jobs that are not satisfying and so want to quit. Public institutions do not have the capacity to employ every member of a country. Private enterprises have been described as the engine of growth because of their role in improving the economy and reducing unemployment. One business idea will lead to another. An initial business idea is only a seed. When it is sowed with faith, commitment, consistency and persistency it will lead to the creation of other business opportunities -all you need is people who can read between the lines to detect these opportunities. By starting your own business you have the opportunity of reducing the number of unemployed people by a certain number depending on the demand of your work.

3. Avenue for wealth creation: By observation world millionaires and billionaires are those who have created businesses themselves. With your own business you derive satisfaction in the business set up and not solely on the monthly salary. You are willing to sacrifice your pay-cheque to the growth of your business. Again, people who own their business spend more hours on the job than anybody else and will find motivation even if they are not rewarded-in money terms for working extra hours. In the long term all these sacrifices will pay off-the business grows very fast with a lot of prospects. Once your clients increase the returns will be great.

4. Financial security: When you hear employees crying over their end of year benefit, it is obvious that they are looking for a sound financial backing when they retire. Or when you hear employees crying over a salary increase, they would want to save a substantial amount of money that they can fall on in times of crises, or their disposable income is no longer able to support their current demand. They want an income that will be able to take care of themselves and their families without having to borrow to subsidize.
In many cases employers are not able to fulfill all the demands of such employees. To the employer, in as much as he cares about his employees, the survival of the business is number one. He cannot choose to channel all revenues into servicing salaries and end-of-year benefit at the expense of the expansion of the company. With your own business you have the chance of creating extra money that can subsidize your monthly salary (if it is done alongside your job) or the chance of making substantial income in the long term when you choose not to work for your employers anymore.

5. Convenience: Some home businesses do not require that you work 24/7. Some few hours in the day is enough to generate revenue for you. You create a room for comfort and are able to attend to issues that are also of importance to you-such as visiting friends and families . You also make time to visit your doctor or your child’s school teacher, which most families are not able to do due to their busy schedules.
