One of the heavyweights of the music scene, Carl Cox, received the International Dj Award | The 27 Kryptonite’s were handed over to their owners to pay homage to their jobs and careers

The 21st edition of the prestigious DJ Awards took place last night at the Heart Ibiza restaurant, a space that fuses art, music, and gastronomy, with the sponsorship of Gray Goose.

Homenajeando in this edition to the disco, many balls of mirrors flooded the roof of the room remembering those nights of dance to the sound of the first DJ that started what we know today as the electronic music industry.Graham Sahara and Katie Hayley Knight were, for the first time, the hosts of the ceremony, who were charged with the great honor of proceeding to the delivery of the 27 awards that paid tribute to the heavyweights of music, the newcomers and the most influential DJs.

Nerves, joy, and excitement among the numerous artists nominated for the Dj Awards 2018, whose selection has been made by countless fans of electronics, in addition to the special awards of the industry, chosen by a panel of professionals from the sector.To the list of the prizes of this year, some of the most important names of the scene were added, among them, the biggest, Carl Cox, that gained the prize of International DJ. As a novelty, this year 4 of the most popular music categories were divided into categories of Artist and Teacher, which allowed to include a new level of talent in this edition.

Among the winners of the Master were Jamie Jones, Paul van Dyk, Joseph Capriati and Roger Sanchez. The awards to the artists went to Camelphat, Patrick Topping, Ben Nicky, Hernan Cattaneo. Melodic House & Techno would be for Solomon while Black Coffee won the Deep House award for the second year in a row.

The prize for the DJ that lands is the musical sphere with more force, that is to say, the most youthful and energetic category, the newcomers, was for the powerful sound of Alex Kennon, an ascending star that is giving much to talk about.

The Dj Awards considered the "Oscars" of electronic music, celebrated its 21st edition on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, moving its location to a place as special as the innovative restaurant and club Heart Ibiza with the sponsorship of Gray Goose.

This year's edition paid homage to the era of the album, some golden years that represented the prologue to what we know today as the electronic music industry. The hosts of the ceremony were Graham Sahara and Katie Hayley Knight, who presented the 27 awards that recognize the important work of DJs and promoters.

In the list of winners came back some of the most important DJs on the scene, some in possession of several "kryptonite", such as the great Carl Cox, who won the Best International DJ Award. Jamie Jones, in the seventh season of his Paradise party, took the Tech House Master, while Paul Van Dyk, a resident of the Shine party this summer, won the Trance Master. For his part, Joseph Capriati took the Techno Master and the legend Roger Sanchez the House Master.

The great Solomon won the Melodic House & Techno award, while another candlestick artist such as Black Coffee won, for the second consecutive year, the Deep House Award. Camelphat triumphed as House Artist, Patrick Topping picked up his third DJ Award as Tech House Artist, Ben Nicky took the Trance Artist and Hernan Cattaneo the Progressive House Artist. A must as Alex Kennon, Italian DJ resident on the island, won the Newcomer Prize, while a veteran like Sven Vath whose career lasts more than 30 years, was recognized with the Outstanding Achievement Award.

The Best Ibiza Night was for the Resistance party, which just ended a successful season on the day of the gala, while the winner of the Ibiza Music Event was Storytellers Ibiza, Dancing in Dreamland Chapter II. The prize for Best Dj Ibiza was this year for a DJ so loved on the island and as fundamental to her scene as Clara Da Costa, who at age 17 became the first woman to have a residency in Ibiza. In addition to many other awards, highlight the Track of the Season awarded to " Your Mind" by Adam Beyer and Bart Skils, a great song that has been danced non-stop in the clubs of the island this summer.

All the winners were given, in addition to the kryptonite, with a pair of Focal Listen Professional Headphones. The ceremony featured an excellent atmosphere animated by the performance of diva Barbara Tucker, who performed one of the anthems of disco music: "MacArthur Park". After the traditional group photo of the winners, the fun festival Heart Factory began, which featured the excellent performances of Blond: is, Themba and a vibrant live performance by Satori.
