We have all had it happen. We put a lot of time and effort into something, but it just doesn’t seem to be working. Deep down, we know it probably will never work, but we have a really hard time letting go. More often than not, in addition to the time and effort, we may have also put in at least some amount of money. We get into this mind set of “getting our money’s worth.” The truth is that once the money is spent, it is gone and no amount of effort will bring it back.

Maybe it is time to evaluate what you have been doing and whether or not is working for you. When you are doing this evaluation, you have to be certain that you are looking at everything objectively. You have to completely forget about the money you have spent and maybe even the time and effort you have put in up to this point. Your evaluation should include several things.

First, have you been able to meet your goals? If not, why? If you feel that you have put in the required effort, done the training, and genuinely worked, but still have not been able to reach your goals, maybe this particular system or business is just not working for you and it is time for a change.

Second, are you happy doing what you are doing? Do you wake up every morning dreading working your business? Have you quite learning new methods and ideas because you think they just don’t work? Are you putting off working the business with more and more frequency? Are you getting increasingly frustrated with the way things are going? It may be time for a change.

The change you make does not necessarily mean that you have switch businesses or companies. It may only mean that you need to look at what you are doing and how you are doing it. It may be that changing just one thing will make the difference. Even though you may have spent a lot of time and/or money learning a certain method, you need to look objectively at whether that method is producing results.

A fresh start can mean the difference between success and failure.

“You may have fresh start any moment you chose, for this thing that we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.”Mary Pickford (1892-1979) Canadian actress Co-founder of United Artists
