“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is a success…”-Henry Ford

Anyone who has been in multilevel marketing for any length of time realizes quickly how important relationships are to your business. Not only are the relationships with your customers important, but so are the relationships with members of your team both up and down the line.

Working with people is a skill that many people have to learn. For people that are starting into a business for the first time, it is particularly important to build strong, lasting relationships.

As Henry Ford implies, relationships take work. If have you have been in personal relationship, you know how it can often take hard work to hold the relationship together and even more work to produce something that is productive and meaningful.

Work relationships take even more work. For the most part, we are not emotionally invested in our work relationships, so it can be easier to walk away.

Many times in multilevel marketing (or any business for that matter), it is tempting to jump ship. If things aren’t going as well or as fast as you had planned maybe it is because you haven’t learned how to work with the people you are involved with—your customers and/or your upline.

What are the benefits of forming lasting, working relationships? The benefits can be immeasurable.

First, when you build a productive relationship with someone you ultimately build trust. If you trust someone, you can believe the advice that they give you and act when changes need to be made. You know that they won’t lead you astray and have your best interests at heart.

When you work at learning how to work with someone, you can learn each other’s strengths and weaknesses. You can use this information to decide on the best way to approach a problem. Each can work on the problem from a position of strength.

Because you have built a relationship with someone, that person is more likely to do business with you in the future, no matter what kind of business you are in. They are also more likely to ask you to join them in any new business venture. Both of these can be very beneficial to your bottom line.

It doesn’t take much effort to just stick around. It takes a great deal of effort to use your relationships to build a strong business and brighter future.
