The single biggest point of failure for home based business owners is running out of enough people to talk with about their products and their business opportunity.

This became immediately apparent to me when I got started in this industry back in 1991. I tried local newspaper advertising with the major newspapers and had good success; back then! The same doesn't hold true today. The world has moved to the internet and only a small number of Americans are reading newspapers anymore. This impacts on our COST/RESULTS ratio negatively.

In 1991 I would maintain a budget of $500 a month with the Phoenix Gazette where I was running classified ads under Home Based Businesses. People would read the ad and call my 800 number and hear a recording. If they liked what they heard they would record their name and phone number. I would copy their recordings several times a day and call them back as soon as possible. Amazingly I would be able to make contact with only 50% of all recorded message.

I'm still puzzled why they even took the time to record a message. I guess we have to learn to say, "That’s just one of those things" as Jim Rohn teaches in his recordings.Our average cost per lead ran around $2.00-$3.00 in 1991-1995. This was low enough to push my team members into profitability as I sat back and watched my checks grow in my network marketing company.

Today, based on my last $5,000 expenditure on newspaper advertising, the COST PER LEAD has risen to over $18.00. And still, only 50% of them respond to my repeated attempts to reach them, bringing the actual cost per GOOD LEAD up over $36.00! There's no way to attain profitability with any network marketing structure with such a ratio.

When the internet became functional for home based business owners we saw our COSTS PER LEAD with conventional advertising continue to increase. Obviously we tried everything; USA Today, Entrepreneur Magazine, Chicago Sun Times Review, Las Vegas Review Journal among several dozens of other small publications. Costs per lead continue to escalate.

Realizing that the internet was changing the playing field we chose to start our own internet lead sourcing system in 2001. That was the beginning of our own lead store, the same system we use today. We were not immediately successful. After 8-10 attempts and several thousand dollars to figure out just how to bring home quality internet prospects who were seriously interested in finding a profitable home based business for costs less than $5.00 per lead we almost tossed in the towel.

But then my partner tried something new and different. Amazingly we started to see predictable quantities of REAL TIME LIVE LEADS answering our program and started passing these leads out to members of my network marketing company. As we got better and better at this new science lead costs have dropped from our $5.00 goal to as low as $0.40!Folks, from there we saw a long and profitable run of successful business building. It was amazing to us that we were able make contact with prospects within seconds of the time they answered our ads. Yes, calling them while they were still at their computers! Wow, did that ever open some doors.

As we moved through the years of 2001-2006 our system was merged with the world's largest lead sourcing structure with which we have been given grandfathered rights to pass on REAL TIME LIVE LEADS for a fraction of what other companies are charging their customers.

Back to my original statement: The single biggest reason people fail with network marketing is they run out of people to talk with. It is not pleasant chasing family and friends until they tell you to, "get lost". That pain and anxiety is not necessary when you can be talking, instantly with people who are asking you to call them. What a pleasure it is then.

Today the only people I talk with are people who have filled out my form on the internet and have asked me to call them. Nice for me, but it doesn’t stop there. The new people I talk with find relief in the fact that they will have hundreds of people to talk with, at a low cost, who have asked them to be called.
