When I was in the Restaurant business, I spent several years advertising my business. Although the business grew, I was not satisfied with the growth, I was serving great food, generous portions and at very affordable prices and I could not understand why business wasn’t booming. I got on the internet and started researching ways to improve my business. I started studying what major restaurants were doing and I learned it was all about Branding. Now there was no way I could afford an investment equal to say, Sizzlers, to create my Brand So I decided the best way for me to run competition to those Major Chains was to meet the public on a more personal basis. Using the very moderate advertising budget we had, My wife and I started doing all our own newspaper ads. Each week we would travel throughout the City and find something novel to include in our ads. For instance we found a statue of a cow we climbed atop the cow, took a picture of us setting on the cow. We ran the picture in the local new paper with the caption “This ain’t no Bull, we’ve got the best food in town”. The night the first ad ran we noticed a substantial increase in business. The following week we ran an ad picturing us holding a couple violins, the caption read “ We’re not fiddling around, we have the best food in town” We dressed as skeletons, The captions “ No Bones about it, We’ve got the best food in town. Each week we followed up with a new and unique picture, with a caption proclaiming the best food etc. The results were amazing, within five weeks we had tripled our business. Customers walking through the door were greeting my Wife and I on a first name basis, as if they had know us all their life.

What I just described to you is a wonderful example of Attraction Marketing. I could have continued using generic methods to promote my Restaurant and had a reasonable amount of success. But I was competing against some giant competition on a limited budge selling the same thing I was selling. Good Food. By personalizing my advertisements, I gave the public something that the Big guys didn’t have. Each time the public saw my wife and I doing something silly, they could relate with us and when they entered our establishment they felt they were going to their friends for Dinner. We stopped competing against the Big Guys and started Promoting ourselves and created a very success and profitable business.

Attraction Marketing for MLM works exactly the same. There are probably hundreds even thousands of marketers out there peddling the same opportunity as you. So for now, forget about what your selling and concentrate more of promoting yourself. Now I know you can’t jump on a cow, to make a statement. But is a lot you can do to instill confidence in you prospects. Creating a blog about something you have knowledge of is a great way to create trust and visibility as well. For instance lets say your selling a vitamin product and your a Football fan, perhaps you could start blogging about football and even posting to some article directory’s . After several post people will see that your knowledgeable on the subject and soon they will be checking your blog for more about the subject. They now trust you, as someone who knows of what they are speaking. When you pop up and say Hey guy’s I just discovered this great Vitamin product that really works, check it out.

Guess what, your reader will be checking it out because they know you, and you would not steer them wrong. Attraction Marketing works really well with videos also. Just remember you are what it’s all about. If you sell yourself, selling your product will be a lot easier. Trust me……..
