It is so common to think about what we need or what we don’t have. We may spend more time dwelling on things we think we have to have in life rather than being happy and satisfied with what we do have. The same is true with what is going wrong in our lives. We hear other people ask us what is wrong more than we hear them ask us what is right in our lives.

Philippians 4:6-7 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace , which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

When we have unfortunate circumstances occur in our lives, we tend to think about what is wrong in those situations and dwell on them. We wake up in the morning dreading something we have to do or we spend all day thinking about a problem we have. Maybe it’s time we stopped focusing on what is wrong and start thinking about what is right.

There are many things in our lives which are going well. We need to think about the positive things and where God is working in our lives. We all have something that is going right in our lives. It’s just natural to look at what is going wrong and be more concerned about that than what is going right. That is why we need to be intentional and think daily look at the good in our lives.

We really need to take time to look at the things in our past which we feel have been mistakes and see what came out of those mistakes which were positive. There is always a lesson to be learned or something we can say that happened in a bad situation which brought a positive light. God can help us find the positive in all situations.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

God is our positive light. Everything that happens to us is for a reason. God wants us to take every opportunity we have and learn from it, share it with others and spread the Good News about how He can make all things right in our lives and in the lives of others. We are to trust in Him in all we do and seek the path He wants us to take in every situation.

We can’t give every situation to God when we try and hold on to it ourselves. We can’t give God our problems when we want to continue to talk about them to others and see how we can fix things on our own. We can’t determine what is right in our lives when we continue to dwell on the negative.

When we begin to realize the good in all areas of our life and focus on them, God will begin to show us how we can use that good to help others. When we remove the bad thoughts and negative feelings about how we believe are lives are turning out and give our lives completely to God, He will use His positive light through us so we can make a difference.

Psalm 30:11-12 “You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!”
