Premature ejaculation happens when a man ejaculates earlier than he would like to. It is also known as rapid ejaculation, rapid climax, premature climax, or early ejaculation. The average male takes less than three minutes from the time of insertion till he ejaculates. To gain greater orgasmic control, the first thing is to understand what is happening to his body when he ejaculates: the functions of the prostate gland and pelvic muscles.

The next thing is gaining greater mastery of the body through exercises such as breathing, strengthening pelvic floor muscles and using the “stop and start” method. This method involves bringing yourself just before the point of no return and stopping all movement before it is too late. When the urgency to ejaculate subsides, start thrusting again, and repeat several times. By committing time and effort in doing these exercises, the majority of men are able to learn better control through therapy, without medication.
