INTRODUCTION

Submitter’s Note

Craig has been studying the human mind, the "secrets of success" and successful living for the past decade and a half. This article is based on points from a most inspirational book by Anthony Robbins titled 'UNLIMITED POWER'. Through my research into human potential and by sharing this "info", I learn too. I am sharing the contents of this work in the spirit of encouraging and hopefully even inspiring those people, who really want to "achieve unlimited power and success" to read Tony Robbins's book...and just GO FOR IT (whatever you really want out of life) with all you've got.*

This is a brief summary of what I feel are the most important parts of the book 'Unlimited Power' by Anthony Robbins. It is more a summary of concise points for ACTION and hope it is helpful to you in finding and using the unlimited power within YOU.

HOW TO ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE IN ANY ENDEAVOUR YOU MAY CHOOSE?

People who have attained excellence follow a consistent path to success. Success is not an accident. There are consistent, logical patterns of action, specific pathways to excellence, that lie within the reach of us all. However, there are seven fundamental character traits that have to be cultivated:

1. PASSION.
Passion is an inner force, a reason, a consuming, energizing, almost obsessive purpose that drives people to do, to grow, and to BE more. It gives the power to tap one's true potential and achieve seemingly impossible endeavours.

"With passion and purpose in our individual lives we can touch others and in so doing illuminate the hearts and minds of humanity to make a better world (through helping raise consciousness). Let us offer an alternate vision for the world to embrace: one that banishes the fanatical ideology of intolerance and hatred to the darkness from which it emerged. Each one of us in our own little ways can and must offer a compelling new horizon: a bright future of justice, tolerance, respect for other traditions and values and especially a vision of hope and thoughts of peace fuelled by the eternal flame of love, which can light the darkest night. "

2. BELIEF
Our beliefs about what we are and what we can be precisely determine what we will become."I am what I THINK I am."
Lift yourself up to possibilities that come along your life's pathway. Make success your dominant thought, as that's what will end up happening. Put it "out there" and everything will follow from that. Keep on BELIEVING.

3. STRATEGYA strategy is a way to organize resources. One must use these resources in the most effective way possible - the path most likely to bring you the desired result(s).

4. CLARITY OF VALUESValues are specific belief systems we have about what is right and wrong. Hugely successful people almost always have a clear fundamental sense about what really is important to them, so prioritise your values.

5. ENERGYGreat success arises out of the physical, intellectual, and spiritual energy, working in unison; so enabling each one of us to make the most of what we have, ie our gifts and talents.

6. THE ABILITY TO WORK WITH OTHERS ( in other words, A PLEASING PERSONALITY)Nearly all successful people have in common an extraordinary ability to get on and bond with others, the ability to connect with and develop rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds and beliefs.

7. MASTERY OF COMMUNICATIONThe way we communicate with others and the way we communicate with ourselves ultimately determine the quality of our lives.

All these seven factors ( character traits) link and interact with each other and are the critical ingredient that makes the difference between the achievements of ordinary and extra-ordinary people.

*

The power of STATE.
The difference between the time when everything goes right and the time when everything goes wrong is the neuro-physiological state you are in. There are enabling states that tap great well springs of personal power and there are paralyzing states that leave us powerless. Our behavior is the result of the state we are in. So to control and direct our behaviours we must control our states. When we know what we want, outstanding positive results can be consistently produced.

N.B:
* The birth of human excellence arises out of belief. The fundamental ingredient that must be duplicated in order to reproduce any form of human excellence lies in ones BELIEF SYSTEM.A belief is any guiding principle, faith, or passion , that can provide meaning and direction in one's life. Handled effectively, beliefs can be the most powerful forces for creating good in your life. Beliefs that limit your actions and thoughts can be as devastating as resourceful beliefs can be empowering. Beliefs help you see what you want and energize you to get it.

"Whether you believe you can do something, or you believe you can't, you're right."- Henry Ford

"They can, because they think they can."- Virgil

"The thing always happens that you believe in...
and the BELIEF in a thing makes it happen."- Frank Lloyd Wright
*

Where do our beliefs come from?Any event, small or large, can help foster our beliefs.

1. Environment
People growing in a certain environment consistently model
what they see. If you grow up in an environment of wealth and success, you can easily model posibility, wealth success.

2. Knowledge
A direct experience is one form of knowledge. Another is gained through reading good books . Acquiring relevant knowledge is one of the great ways to break the shackles of a limiting environment.

3. Through our past efforts and results. The surest way to make you believe you can do something is to do it once. If you succeed once, it's far easier to form the belief that you'll succeed again... and again.

"We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit."
-- Aristoteles, Greek philosopher(384 BC - 322 BC)

4. Learn and use the technique of VISUALISATION: You can create in your mind the experience you desire in the future... as if it were here now. Just like past experiences can change your internal representations and thus what you believe is possible, so can your imagined experience of how you want things to be in the future. The kind of and intensity of belief you have, the amount of potential you unleash, the kind of actions you take and the kind of results you get are all linked. WE CREATE OUR REALITY and it can be changed... in an instant!

"You are always a valuable, worthwhile human being,
not because anybody says so, not because you're successful, not because you make a lot of money; but because you decide
to believe it and for no other reason."

-- Wayne Dyer, American motivational author
*
THE SEVEN KEYS TO SUCCESS: Seven useful beliefs that can be used to build a belief system of excellence:

1. Everything happens for a reason and a purpose... and it serves us.

2. There is no such thing as failure. There are only results.Every "failure" moves you a step closer towards ultimate success.

3. Whatever happens to you, good and bad, take responsibility for your actions.

4. It is not necessary to understand everything in life.

N.B:5. PEOPLE are your greatest resource in any endeavour you may choose to undertake in life..

6. There is no lasting success without commitment - you have to be willing to pay the price of success and do whatever it takes to reach your goal.

7. Work is fun; so play hard... in work and in life! So find creative ways to do your job and it will get even better.

8. Master your mind and you master your life.

"I'd rather attempt to do something great and fail, than try doing something ordinary and succeed."- Norman Vincent Peale

"Our Greatest Good is perhaps not to achieve wealth and share our material possessions, our money and 'riches' with others, but through encouragement and faith in other people, to lay the firm foundation of revealing the rich treasure that lies within themselves. Perhaps that is true success in life."
- craig

"Together, one mind, one soul at a time, let's see how many people we can impact, empower , encourage and perhaps even inspire to reach their fullest potentials."
