Each of us have some unique talent given by god but success comes to only those who take advantage of the full measure of their ability. This concept will helpful in GRE too. Most tests college students take are straightforward achievements tests. They attempt to find out how much you have learned, usually in a specific subject, and how well you can apply that information. Without emphasizing memorized data, the GRE general test attempts to measure verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing skills that you have acquired over the years both in and out of school.

The quantitative section consists of 28 questions. Out of twenty eight questions, fourteen of quantitative comparison questions, ten discrete quantitative or standard multiple choice questions, and four data interpretation questions. Here are some examples will see about Quantitative comparison and multiple choice altogether. For more practice of such problems, you can attempt GRE Math Questions and GRE Quantitative Reasoning.

Examples:

1. Line k goes through (1, 1) and (5, 2). Line m is perpendicular to k.
Column A: The slope of line k
Column B: The slope of line m

a. The quantity of column A is greater.
b. The quantity of column B is greater.c. The two quantities are equals.
d. The relationship cannot be determined from the given information.

2. The first term of an arithmetic progression (A.P) is the common ratio of a geometric progression (G.P.). The first term of the geometric progression is the common difference of the arithmetic progression. The sum of the first ten terms of an A.P. is 155 and the sun of the first two terms of the G.P. is 9. Find the first terms of the A.P. and the G.P.

a. (2, 3) or (3, 2)
b. (25/2, 3) or (3, 2)c. (2, 25/2) or (3, 2/3)
d. (1, 3) or (2, 2/3)

3. What is the value of following expression?
[1/(22-1)] + [1/(42 – 1)] + [ 1/ (62 – 1)] + ……………….. + [1/(202 – 1)]
a. 9/19
b. 10/10
c. 10/21
d. 11/21

In order to answer these questions, you know what you need? Yes, arithmetic, some very elementary algebra, and a little geometry. No need for advanced mathematics. The questions are deliberate to find out if you have a basic knowledge of elementary mathematics, and if you have the skill to explanation obviously.

If you haven’t done any mathematics before long, go through the math review in any GRE book before attempting the model Tests, and surely before registering to take the GRE. If you feel that your math skills are still not bad, you can try Diagnostics Test first, and then read only those sections of the math review relating to those topics that gave you trouble.
