Hex bolts or Hex cap screws are commonly used in fabrication and construction business. We also call them hex cap bolts, machine bolts, or hexagon screw head bolts. A wide range of sizes find use in common work. We use it in a variety of places such as petrochemical industry, construction, food machinery industry, and solar power installations.

First Choose Your MaterialBest way to choose a hex bolt nut for your work will depend on what material you choose. You get many varieties of nuts and bolts from the Hex Bolt Manufacturers. Most common types of screw head bolts are these:

Carbon steel bolts
Stainless steel bolts
Alloy steel
Brass
Aluminium
Silicon bronze
Stainless steel is usually used for most applications due to its long lasting capability and high strength. Stainless steel 18-8 is one of the common hardware application steel in use for making hex bolts and nuts. The next is the stainless steel 316 grade that has high corrosion resistance. It is mostly used in salt water applications. It is costlier than 18-8 steel. If the nut or bolt burrs or scratches, it will not affect the life and cause rust because the resistant material to corrosion is present inside the material itself. They have a typical clean silver color and shiny appearance. Stainless steel bolts become slightly magnetic due to threading and cold forming. Uses of this type of fasteners are usual for external fastening and for decorative purposes because it is so attractive.

Higher corrosion resistant steelThe zinc plated steel is low carbon steel that is coated with zinc. This is either Grade 2 or Grade A307A. It has moderate resistance to corrosion. Grade 5 zinc plated steel is tempered medium carbon steel. This grade is between Grade 2 and Grade 8. Most automotive applications use this grade of steel. In Grade 8 we have two types. One is zinc plated Grade 8 yellow steel and the other is Grade 8 steel plain finish. You can get more details from the Hex Nut Bolt Manufacturers before you place your order.

Both these steels are tempered medium carbon steels. Grade 8 is stronger than Grade 5 and is used in high strength applications. Plain finish means that it is not plated. Chrome plate steel is another kind of steel. This has a mirror like finish. Hot dipped galvanised steel is also used. Both this and chrome steel are low carbon steel for general use. Both have high degree of resistance to corrosion. Structural bolt steel

Structural bolts have a bigger diameter head than the hex bolts. The most common type of structural bolt is A325. There are two types in use. One is the steel plain finish and the other is hot dipped galvanised steel. Steel plain finish is unplated and made of medium carbon steel. Hot dipped galvanised steel is also medium carbon steel used in structural connections. It has good corrosion resistance.

Stainless steel is of three types - Austenitic, Martensitic, and Ferritic. Highest corrosion resistance is present in Austenitic stainless steel. It has tensile strength between 72,000 and 116,000 PSI.
