Getting organized is definitely a daunting task.

However, I have decided that if I list out the tasks that need to be completed each week, then divide them up into days, I might have a fighting chance.

Since I do not have a cleaning crew, nanny, or someone to take care of my business, it’s up to me to figure out how it all gets done.

Luckily, I am not much of a TV watcher (until I am in bed) and I can limit my shopping and eating out (to one day each week).

With my cell phone in hand and multiple alarm clocks on it set, onward I go.

I will start with making Monday the “heavy lifter” for the week, since I just came off of a relaxing weekend.

There has to be some sort of formula for getting everything done and I am hoping that this is it.

Here is how I plan on organizing my Mandatory Mondays:

The Kid’s Responsibilities throughout the week:

* Set wake up alarm, get up and get dressed
* Make bed and open blinds before coming down
* Set the table, clear the table, clean kitchen counters - breakfast and dinner
* Get self and backpack ready for school
* Open and close blinds throughout the house
* Feed, give water to and take the dog out
* Pick up bedrooms
* Shower, brush teeth and ready for bed
* Take wet towels to the laundry room
* Put dirty clothes in their hampers
* Put up folded clothes
* Do their homework

At the end of this long, hard day, I should feel like I have accomplished a great deal and have been a good example for my children.

I will have washed all of the clothes, taken care of family finances, spent an hour working out, spent one-on-one time with each child and completed over 4 hours of quality work.

What I did not realize is that this is pretty much what my Mondays have always looked like.

I’ve just never seen it in writing.

I sit in the office doing work while I wait for the alarm on the dryer to go off.

I always have the kids in extracurricular activities and help with their homework.

Dinner is usually warmed up because I make it on Sundays, since we don’t have time during the week.

It’s very interesting…I can’t wait to see what Tuesday looks like on paper.
