Nothing stays the same. You really don’t want it to stay the same. An expression I share a lot when speaking from the stage is that “you’re either growing or dying .” Think about a flower. Once the seed is planted, it grows and grows until the flower blooms…and a bloom only lasts so long, until it starts dying .

What I’m referring to when I use this expression is not about your body but your mind. If you stay in your Comfort Zone and never try new things, meet new people, have new experiences, you will slowly (or quickly) start to wither away. You’ll become static and eventually outdated.

An easy way to get you to understand this think concept about technology. Remember all of the small business owners years ago who had to update into current technology by getting rid of typewriters and replacing them with computers that they had no idea how to use. However, if they didn’t get a computer, they would eventually not be able to keep up with the outside world and ultimately, lose clients.

It’s the same with you and your business. If you aren’t continually evaluating what’s going on in your business and updating in the critical places, you will become replaceable.

At this point, it’s not even so much with technology; it’s more with how you show up. After all, it’s virtually impossible to keep up with technology these days as there’s always something newer and shinier coming to market.

Take a few moments to ask yourself this very important question:

Is your business and income level growing the way you want it to?If not, it may be time to re-evaluate how you’re doing business.

Maybe it’s time for you to:
• Switch the programs/products you offer?
• Increase your pricing?
• Change how/when you work?
• Find a new way to get clients?
• Change who your ideal client is?
• Update your self-image to that new level?

You could be stuck in some of those above-mentioned areas or all of them. It’s important to re-evaluate this at least once a year.

The thought of making those changes can be exciting and a bit scary. After all “how” will you do it all?

As Einstein said, “You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it.”You have to decide if you want to remain in your Comfort Zone or if you want to show up in your Zone of Brilliance. Which is more important to you? Which will give you the life you desire?
