Warning! – Adhering to Your Business Advisors Lies will place you on the Endangered Species list!

Have you heard this before? "It’s a Numbers Game! – OR - "You Just Need To Get on the Phone and Make the Calls" Honestly, it almost makes me sick to write that... And the sad part is I could go on and on with even more lies your business advisors have been telling you!...but I'll save those for a little later. The reality is that times have changed. And more importantly, society as a whole has changed.

So to start with, breathe a big sigh of relief because if you aren't experiencing results in your business, it's not you! The rules have changed. And if you're still using the "old methods" of building your business to be successful, you're methods simply just won't work in today's technological society. My cousin who is in the “Advertising and Publishing ” business explained to me this morning some changes that have occurred in his industry in the last 2 years. What was “Cutting Edge” technology 2 years ago - is now antiquated and so far behind, you can’t see it! An accepted PDF file 2 years ago is now considered “historic” if it isn’t in a new “on-line brochure” format. (With all kinds of cool flip pages and options for the reader experience) And that's a fact!

Now if you're wondering what I mean when I say society has changed, let me share that with you first because then you'll quickly see why the "old methods" of building a successful business just simply don't work anymore. And for that, let me start with a question-

How different is the business world of today than the business world of even just...say...10 years ago for example? A LOT, right?

In today's day and age, people simply don't want to be bothered. Period!!! In fact, think about everything that has been created to help you and I block unwanted information (and people) from our lives...- TIVO - allows people to eliminate TV commercials- XM and other Satellite Radio Providers - take listeners away from local radio and also greatly reduce the number of ads users receive - "Do Not Call" List - An act of the U.S. Congress that stopped telemarketers- SPAM Filters- Pop-Up Blockers - The list could go on and on...The reality is that we now live in a "new" society that teaches us to be more and more guarded and picky on whom we allow "into our world" so to speak. But I mean, after all who could blame us, right? Because it seems like every time I turn on the news, there's another story about some type of crime... A store was robbed, a man was fleeced out of his life savings...And then you've got tons of different companies out there that have basically stolen almost everything from their shareholders and employees. Kind of makes you paranoid, doesn't it? Even think about how much advertising noise is out there these days...You probably don't even realize how bad it actually is so I pulled the statistic...And according to the Ad Council, the average American is marketed to over 6,000 times PER DAY.

SO... what's the result of all this, and what in the world does it have to do with building your successful business?Well to be blunt – EVERYTHING! Because - whether consciously or subconsciously - this “New World” affects you in almost every way. You become numb to advertisements and offers, and you become even more skeptical about the offers that you DO "notice". Make sense?

So when it comes to obtaining clients for your successful business, your prospects are no different. Because when you try to offer them your services using the "old methods" like cold calling, hounding your circle of influence, handing out fliers and sizzle cards, buying opportunity leads and genealogy lists, and so on...you're using methods that I've already shown you are openly detested by our society. If you intend to be successful in the future, the Old Ways will not work! And if you invest your money (Or worse – Your Valued Time!!) your business will not help you –

only place you on the Endangered Species list –

to become extinct, if you do not adopt a new methodology and way of doing business!
