There should be no introduction necessary for Instagram but then, there are some of us who don’t know what it is and for that reason there it is a must to introduce this social app to you Instagram is a social networking app created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger in October 2010, and in less than two years it was acquired by Facebook for $1 billion. With the introduction of new social networking apps that could be a threat to its xistence, Instagram is known for its constant sync of new features to ensure its users remain served. If by any chance, you’re yet to have your own Instagram account, either a personal or business account, then you should keep reading.

Create your Instagram Profile

Let’s take a step back. The first thing you have to do is to download the Instagram app from your app store if you don’t have it already. Once you have the app installed on your device, you can go on to create your account. You can either sign up using your Facebook account or with an email address and password. For business or professional account, you can go for an actual name or any name of your choice if it’s a personal account.

What matters most for a business or professional account is to have a username that is the same as your official business name, or that matches the theme of your account. You can add any picture as your profile picture. Just tap on the blank picture space on your profile so that you can choose a photo of your choice. On your profile, you can decide to share some personal information. Click on the Edit Profile menu and select which action you would like to take. You are allowed to add just one external link to your profile. You can also buy real and active Instagram followers to improve your profile viewers. This can also be used as social media marketing and also become a public figure.

Once you’ve set up your profile, you can decide if you want it to be a public account or a private account. Everyone can view your profile and picture if you choose a public account, but only your followers can see your profile and photos for a private account.

Find Friends and Post your First Photo

You can easily find friends to follow. If you have friends on your contact who are already using Instagram, you can go to the profile tab and click on Find Friends. You will see your friends that have connected their Facebook or Twitter accounts to Instagram. If you also know your friend’s name or username, you can search for them on the search tab and follow them. They will be prompted of your action and requested to follow you back. To post a photo or video, the two things you can share on Instagram, tap on the camera icon sitting in the middle of the menu at the bottom of the app. You have the option to snap a photo or record a video. You can also choose either a photo or video from your phone gallery to share. Once you’ve selected your option, tap on Next. You can apply different filters and edit your photo with the available tools which are quite a number. Once you’re done with your editing, you should tap on Next again, and here, you can add captions, location, tags and select with other social networks you want to share the picture. Once you’ve made all the necessary selections you want, tap on Share, and your photo or video is live.

For videos, you are allowed to share clips with a maximum length of one minute. You can also choose to turn off the sound of the video.
