To answer this question, we must speculate what is the cause of the violence. Many people have been putting in tireless hours in trying to alleviate violence, but we are treating the symptoms and not the problem hence violence keeps reoccurring and becoming more extreme. What happens when we leave an illness untreated? It festers into something much worse and ends up intoxicating other organs in your body. We must heal the root cause of the illness.

So what causes violence? Fear, hatred, anger etc.
How do we cure fear, hatred and anger? What causes fear, hatred and anger?
This can be summed up in one word. Ignorance.

We are afraid because we do not understand and we fear the unknown. We are angry because we do not understand other parties involved and we hate because we do not have the understanding to have the compassion for others, which in turn brews hate. All of these things are a recipe for violence. In a world where so much information is at our fingertips with the internet, we are more lost in incorrect knowledge now more than ever.

We must gain correct knowledge to cure this intense anger, fear and hurt in the world. In a world full of religious warfare, we must find spiritual truth.
Where does one become enlightened? Luckily for us we have been blessed with an enlightened teacher who has simplified these basic but profound truths of the world itself. He has said, “The world does not need punishment it needs compassion.”- Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan
How does one gain compassion? Only through proper awareness and knowledge of the situation at hand.

This awareness will lead to internal peace and the world will know world peace when each and every individual achieves inner peace . Unfortunately, we do not have control over everyone else, but what is in our control is ourselves. So, maybe the question should state- “What can I do to play my part in decreasing violence in society?”, “How do I begin the peace movement?”

We must understand that we cannot fight fire with fire, because that is how we will burn the whole world to shreds and unfortunately this is exactly what is happening. So, we must be the opposite of violence, we must be peace and most importantly we must encompass love.

We must eradicate any ounce of violence within us, so that we radiate peace to the world around us.If self-improvement was that easy, then we would all be perfect individuals. The fact of the matter is, it is very difficult, but it is achievable with the correct teacher to guide us. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan’s spiritual science of Akram Vignan has helped thousands of people achieve awareness of themselves and in turn change for the better.

They will personally tell you that when they made peace with themselves and understood the truth of the universe they in turn noticed that their life became more peaceful. That the immediate quarrels in their lives began dissipating. They were able to communicate better with everyone, they had proper understanding and therefore their life was peaceful. Imagine a world where everyone began making this change in their own personal lives.

Change begins with just one person. We need to feel the oneness in the world and understand that each and every person and factor is interconnected therefore if one person changes for the better, they begin a ripple effect which changes the world for the better.
