Criss-crossed legs, folded hands, and "oms." Ah, the standard meditation stance. I'm sure this is what you imagine when thinking about meditation .

This is the most commonly known meditation position. And it's a wonderful one. But meditation comes in more than just one form.

Meditation can be done through any action or pose. It's not what the body is doing, but what the mind is doing. A waitress sweeping the floors during her shift to break free from customers for a while is meditation.

Your mind in a relaxed and peaceful state is your meditation stance. But not everyone knows how to reach this level of peace on their own. So we've put together 5 types of meditation that are perfect for newcomers!

1. Mindfulness Meditation (Vipassana Meditation )

In Mindfulness Meditation, you are aware of the thoughts that pass through your mind, but you do not absorb them. You know that they are there, and you leave them be.

Your focus shifts away from the thoughts themselves and travels to the question, "why?" Why are these thoughts in your mind?

2. Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy

In Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy , the practice of hypnosis is used to reach full inner peace . The therapy allows for you to completely embrace their inner self.
This therapy takes you to the deepest part of your subconscious . In this part of your Higher Self, you reach into past lives. You reach into pieces of your soul that need healing and then offer them peace.

3. Loving-Kindness Meditation (Metta Meditation)

Loving-Kindness Meditation is geared towards finding love and kindness for all things surrounding you. This includes things you may not like and things that cause you stress. Recognize those things and become at peace with them. This also includes yourself. If you find love for yourself, you will find love for everything else around you.

4. Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation is led by an instructor on a tape, video, or in-person. The instructor guides you through different images in your mind. You imagine visuals of what " relaxation " means to you and build on it.
Your mind circulates around the relaxing journey that you have created. All six senses are used in this meditation style.

5. Transcendental Meditation

Transcendental Meditation uses mantras to put the mind at ease. A mantra is hummed or repeated out loud for a series of minutes. With your eyes closed and in a comfortable stance, you find inner peace .

Licensed instructors teach you how to achieve this state using the mantra. And it doesn't involve much effort!
