Are you too comfortable where you are at? We may not like what we are doing for a living or the relationships we are involved in but we do not make the changes necessary. This can be due to fear of getting out of our comfort zone.

Profession

A reason why some people may not achieve their goals is because it will mean they have to get out of their comfort zone and do something that might feel risky. They would much rather stay within their comfort zone and be unhappy than leave their comfort zone and take a chance even if that means that they might be happier. Have you noticed if you are stuck in your comfort zone? I have looked into this and as far as profession is concern I can speak from experience. I have stayed in my current profession because I have over 20 years experience in this field. I do not enjoy what I do for a living as much as I once did. So, I ask myself, why continue to do it if I am not happy…my answer has been because my children depend on my for their survival, and this job pays the bills so for years I keep “dealing with it”. As I am preparing for my empty nest I have been taking closer look at my life as a whole and I have decided to get out of my comfort zone and make a career change .

Relationships

Another area where people tend to be stuck in their comfort zone is their relationships. They may not feel appreciated, loved or maybe they are the ones that no longer feel what they once did, but they may not be ready to make the necessary changes. Once again, they are in their comfort zone.

Eating Habits

Eating habits is another area where you might find people not willing to step outside of their comfort zone. You might know someone that orders the same things every time they go to a particular restaurant or maybe they eat the same thing for breakfast or lunch day in and day out. Getting out of our comfort zone can be scary and intimidating too but if you have goals that you want to achieve you will have to work through the uncomfortable feelings in order to achieve those goals.
Have you notice if you are operating in your comfort zone? Are you intimidated to make the necessary changes to escape your comfort zone which is your own little box?
