It is really useless for us to worry. It is useless for us to worry about other people. It is useless for us to worry about tomorrow. It is useless for us to worry about the things of the world. We can’t change things or people by worrying about what may or may not happen. We really can’t change things or people by any actions or words we may take or say. So to worry about things out of our control is really a waste of time.

How many endless days do we spend thinking about other people who we feel aren’t doing the right things? How many sleepless nights do we have because we are worried about finances, health or relationships? We waste a lot of time and thoughts worrying about things that are not really in our control. Why worry about things when we can’t really control the outcome?

Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

Instead of worrying, we need to be praying. We need to be thanking God. We need to be allowing Him to work through us and help us be at ease about the situation so we can better serve Him. God wants us to do what is right according to His word and worrying is not one of those things. So instead of worrying about our children, about our finances, about our jobs or our relationships, we need to give it to God and allow Him to take away our worry and to live for Him.

We can only really control ourselves and our own actions. We can’t be responsible if others don’t do as God wants them to do. We can’t be accountable if someone does or says things which are not pleasing to God. However, we can control what we do about the situation. We can pray. We can set a good example. We can live for God and allow Him to do His work through us and handle the things we are concerned about.

We are to live as God wants us to live. We are to go to God and ask Him to take away our worries and concerns and allow Him to handle the things that hinder us from living as we should for Him. We are to give Him our worries and ask Him to help us have understanding and wisdom to guide others. We are to ask Him to help us live the lives He wants us to live.

1 Kings 3:9 “Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?”

We, by ourselves, cannot control people. We, by ourselves, cannot know what to say and do to help others. We are to ask God to give us an understanding heart and give us wisdom so we can do and say the right things which will be pleasing to Him and will be an example to others. When we live the life God wants us to live and seek His wisdom and understanding, He will use us to help others and to make a difference.
