There is more to having flat abs than your looks. There is a serious health issue that you need to consider. Having flat abs does help make it easier to breathe as there is less fat weighing in on your diaphragm. You also have more energy if you have flat, strong abs because you have less fat to keep you down. But there is more to it than this.

There are two types of fat in your stomach. You have the more visible fat is called the “subcutaneous fat”. This lies just beneath your skin and on top of your stomach muscles. It’s the more easy type of fat to lose.
