A System for Achieving Goals: Energy Management

By Jeannette Koczela

A recent recording of a life coach was saying that from a survey he did, only 5% of the participants of most of the self-improvement seminars he went to actually felt that they had attained their goals from the class. The reason was because when left to apply what they learned on their own, most people don’t follow through. People need a way to hold themselves accountable and hiring a coach is the best way to do that.

After going through my first coaching program, I could understand why. There is nothing as effective as hiring someone to help you reach your goals, instead of trying to do it yourself.

I never thought I could afford to hire a life coach but I was required to in order to receive my coaching certification. And even after the first session, I realized that I could no longer afford NOT to have a personal coach. My coach propelled me so much faster to my goals than I could have accomplished by myself. I was impressed. So I can tell you from first hand experience that having a life coach is a great asset.

There were so many valuable lessons in my first coaching class and I’d like to share one of the most powerful techniques I learned that helped me in achieving my goals. One of the keys to manifesting your desires is to manage your energy on a daily basis. I see so many people start to move forward towards their dreams , and then when something goes wrong, they sabotage themselves. This is because most programs don't teach you how to manage your energy on a daily basis.

What do I mean by energy management? Energy management is dealing with your energy around a situation especially if it is likely to affect you negatively. When you are moving towards a goal and you run into a snag, by managing your energy around that situation, you won't freak out and sabotage yourself by getting entrenched in the tangled, negative energy.

For example, I had been trying to sell a collection of paintings and after I found a gallery owner that was willing to exhibit the work for a 50% commission. The day before I was to start shipping the paintings, the owner reneged on the agreement.

That was not what I wanted to happen. But instead of getting upset about it, and allowing it to be an obstacle, I practiced my energy management skills . I was able to trust that an even better solution would happen. Three months later the gallery owner contacted me with a better offer to purchase the paintings outright sent me a check for the first three.

This is an example of how a seemingly negative situation can be transformed into a good one by managing the energy around the situation. That skill gave me a consistent positive attitude , which attracted a more favorable situation.

By learning how to use energy management skills , you will have a clearer path to manifesting your desires and achieving your goals. The coaches training I received taught us tools to develop the skills needed to manage energy and how to turn negative energy into positive energy. Hiring a spiritual life coach can help you learn these skills, so you don’t have to do it alone.
