Most people don’t have a problem “thinking” success. They have a problem “believing” that they can accomplish what they are “thinking.” Your vision may be that you want to earn a million dollars, and the reality is that you don’t “believe” you can. Through conditioning, we are either convinced we can or we are convinced we can’t.

What’s the difference in someone that makes $5,000 a year, $50,000 a year or $500,000 a year? It’s simple. One believes they can earn $5,000 a year, one $50,000 and one $500,000 a year.Your thoughts and beliefs influence your behaviors, and your behaviors bring forth the degree of your success. Your thinking and beliefs make up your mindset. Our “mindset” makes us almost as mechanical and predictable as a calculator. Hit this key and the number appears on the paper. Take a look at your past 10 years. In hindsight, how predictable have they been? The results you produce are always the result of you believe you are going to produce. Expand your “mindset” and you will expand your limitations. Simply put, if you develop a millionaire “mindset,” only then will you become a millionaire!

Here’s an example of how we get off track. Let's suppose you set out to start a business that you “think” is going to be a super success.

Now, let's suppose you’ve invested $5,000 in inventory and sales aids to start your marketing campaign. You’re now ready for business, but after talking to a dozen people or so, you find that no one is even remotely interested. Your “belief” may have now dwindled from one of success to one of, “I may have made a serious mistake.” This is closely followed by another thought, “I am going to loose a sizable amount of money!” Before long, you may develop a new “belief” that your business is going to fail. This may bring up your deepest fears. “What if it doesn’t work?” “What if the opportunity isn’t real?” “What if I can’t do it?” “What will others think of me being in this type of business?” It brings up the fear of failure. “I’ve failed before, what if I do it again?”

In other words you have chosen to “honor” your belief of failure instead of success.

We are always using our imagination to create at every waking moment. For example, a daydream, which is a vision of how we see ourselves in life, is the result of our imagination creating an image of a real experience happening in the future. Like all real experiences they are the effects of our thoughts and beliefs…our “mindset.”

We never stop creating. The universe is always, and without question, creating the realities of our visions...our “mindset.”What about your daydreams, are they more about what you want and why you want it, or more about what you don’t want? Do you hold a vision of success or of failure? Do you focus your actions on success or failure? Where do you see yourself in the next month, six months, a year?

As you begin to become more “mindful” of how you see yourself and what you have chosen to honor, you’ll begin to strengthen and trust your own inner guidance. Your inner motivation and determination will awaken. You will begin to discover ways of transforming old outdated beliefs into new productive ones supporting what’s important in your life and your business success.

I also believe that we are working much too hard at “success.” The fact is that someone, somewhere along the way has convinced us that if something is going to be worthwhile, it’s going to require a lot of hard work, and it does require some work and you do have to get serious about it. But “working” hard and “struggling” hard is outdated thinking in my opinion. And it stands in our way more than anything else. Success should be fun not a struggle! If we have to struggle all the time to become and remain a success, what good is it? We all need to “lighten up,” be present with ourselves, watch our thinking and behaviors, and stop making everything such a complicated intellectual process. Success is a “feeling” process. How would success “feel” to you?

Knowing more and working harder to make your business grow is only part of the answer. Develop the understanding of how simple success can be. Open up to your mind, change your thinking and develop new beliefs to allow success to flow freely. The key is to connect your head with your heart before you take action. In other words, Feel success, see success and then take action to have it!

Success is always a question of “honor.” Create your vision, honor that vision, and then with total confidence, play with whomever shows up to play in your game.
