There are not many really good guides that people can refer to on the spot for a running shoe. However, when you do find one, you are bombarded with terms that you feel only an athlete would know. You are also see shoes that have so many bells and whistles in the design that you would be driven crazy from not knowing what you need to buy! You’ve seen them from every brand going. They are bright colored, with springs and cushions and shock absorbers. I mean, where does it stop?
What makes things worse is when you are experiencing lower back pain . This is caused by your foot strike. Meaning when your foot hits the ground, it will strike a certain part of the foot and that is generally how injury occurs. When you choose a running or a walking shoe, you must follow certain steps and be aware of certain things.
So, how do I choose the right shoe for my back pain ?
• Know your foot type. How do you do this? You place a piece of colored construction paper or brown paper bag on the floor. You will wet your feet and make a footprint on the paper. When you step back you can see your foot print. You can see if you have flat feet or arches
• If you are flat footed you will over pronate and absorb too much shock, meaning you saw the print of your whole foot with no arch and you will need a shoe to compensate for that.
• If you have high arches, meaning you saw very little of the print of your arch on the paper, you will under pronate and not absorb shock well enough so you need a shoe that will be able to compensate for that.
• When in doubt, bring the paper with you and show it to the sales person. In a sporting goods store, you ought to be able to get enough advice from them
• Try on a few shoes and really take your time.
• Close your eyes and just feel
• See if the shop manager will let you leave something for collateral while you run around the mall if you don’t have to go out on the street of course.

The best thing you can do is to get as much time with the shoe as at all possible. When you do settle on a shoe, you should ask the shop owner or manager what the return policy is and make sure that it is noted on the receipt. If it is subject to change, then I would thank them kindly and remember the model shoe you chose and get them elsewhere. This is because once you are out of the store and have use them a few days, you may not be so happy with the way they are breaking in and may at best have to do an exchange.

I am married with 2 children and 3 grand-children and live in Israel. I adore my family and would do anything for them. Since 2 years I work from home and enjoy doing SEO and affiliate marketing
Since 27 years I am suffering of back-pains due to 5 car accidents. 2 years ago I decided to quit my high salary sales-manager job and decided to work from home and do something to fulfill my dreams. For now, I launched my own site http://www.whatisbackpain.info/ which is as you might guess about back-pain. I decided to have this site in order to help my-self and all the friends with my experience.

I just wanted to create a site, where we could talk about anything, related to back pains. This is also a place for people to share links to helpful or interesting websites, photos or anything else they wish to share. My hope is to get healthier while helping others.
