We live in uncertain times. With pandemics, violent riots, crime, and economic turmoil, no one can be quite sure what the future holds. However, it can't be too much of a stretch to predict that violence could be a threat to your family in the future. With that in mind, you may feel you need to start preparing for that possibility. One thing you will want to protect your family from is gunfire. You can do so by using bullet proof materials to protect every member of your family .

Install Bulletproof Walls

As you may have seen before on the nightly news, people that remain inside their homes are not necessarily safe from the gang warfare taking place on the streets. Stray bullets can, and often do, enter homes and kill innocent people. You can greatly eliminate this threat by bulletproofing your walls. The easiest way to do this is through the installation of bulletproof fiberglass panels. The panels are mounted to stud walls and then covered over with drywall. Any bullet that impacts the wall will not pass through the bulletproof fiberglass.

Install Bulletproof Windows

Of course, a wall isn't the only possible entry point for a bullet into your home. Glass windows are even more susceptible to bullets. Thankfully, there are plenty of high quality designs for bulletproof windows on the market. You will end up paying a large premium for them, but it's worth it to increase your home's security. Bulletproof windows also have other benefits. They obviously won't be broken by less deadly projectiles like baseballs or golf balls. They also do a better job of blocking out harmful UV rays than normal windows can.

Bulletproof Inserts for Your Children

It's not possible for your children to be under your direct supervision at all times. Still, there are ways you can help protect them while they are on their own at school or elsewhere. You can create bulletproof coats for your children that they can put on if they encounter a dangerous situation at school or elsewhere.

All you have to do is sew bulletproof inserts into the fabric. Bulletproof inserts are actually very versatile. For example, you could put the inserts in their backpacks for them to use as a shield in case of emergency instead or in addition to their coats.

Bulletproof Your Car

Lastly, you may want to consider bulletproofing the family car. Bulletproof cars aren't only available to heads of state. They are available to anyone who wants to make the investment. You can even buy cars designed to be bulletproof, like the BMW X5 F15 Security Plus, right off the lot. Other bulletproof cars are designed for use by law enforcement, and you can buy them used on the secondary market. You might find a great bargain that can help you feel much more secure no matter where you drive your family to.

Unfortunately, we live in uncertain times. Violence occurs every day, and no one can be certain they won't be a victim of it in the future. Thankfully, you can take steps to protect your family. One of these precautions can include bulletproofing different things like walls, windows, clothing and the family car.
