Wooden Flooring

You can’t deny that wood floors are beautiful and stylish. They offer a natural glow as well as adding warmth to your home. There are two different types of wood floors: engineered and solid. Engineered is made up of multiple layers of recycled wood (MDF) and topped with a layer of solid. Whereas solid wood is exactly what it says on the tin. It’s 100% solid wood! Let’s go into them a little deeper.

Engineered is suitable with underfloor heating. The heat can travel through the board without it causing wood damage. It can be sanded down multiple times to achieve your desired look but shouldn’t need it for the first 10 years. Solid wood isn’t suitable for underfloor heating. The heat can't travel through the wood with it being so thick. Both floors aren’t waterproof, although their finish may repel water for a short space of time. Just make sure you clean any spills up right away!
