How to Fix Orbital Sander’s Slows Down Problem 

Clean the Dust & Rust 

Whether you have an electrical orbital sander or a pneumatic orbital sander, in both cases, dust and rust can play a major part in slowing down your sander as the dust, and the rust clogs the brushes of your sander, which slows it down. So make sure you clean your sander every now and then to avoid any clogging.

Check the bearing Spin. 

One of the most dominant parts of a sander is the bearing. If the bearing of your sander is unable to spin freely, the sander will slow down. Now, you might be wondering why would the bearing of my sander not spin freely? Well, you see, when you don’t give your sanders a monthly clean or when you don’t pay enough attention to them. Dirt starts to clog up in parts like bearings which then affects the performance of your sander slows it down.

Disassemble & Reassemble 

Sometimes, when you disassemble your sander for a complete and proper cleaning cycle, and when you reassemble them. A bearing or a shaft gets faulty or does not fit properly or sometimes even gets knocked out of alignment.

When this happens, your sander is bound to slow down and become faulty, which is why you should always carefully disassemble and reassemble your orbital sander so that you don’t face any issue in the future.
