Vishnu Srivastava Quick Facts

Mr. VD Srivastava served the National Productivity Council of India (NPC), a premier productivity, management consultancy, training and research organization under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India for over 39 years. He superannuated as their Senior Consultant. He has a Master’s Degree in English literatureand Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management(PGDBM) from Mumbai. He underwent the basic and advance courses in the Art of Livingorganised by the Art of Living Foundation International (a UN NGO)founded by Yoga Shiromani, the Supreme Teacher of Enlightenment Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.  Mr. Srivastava was posted in NPC’s Regional Directorates at Bangalore, Mumbai, Patna, Kanpur and Corporate Office at New Delhi in various capacities. Some of the major national and regional assignments handled by him in the areas of consultancy, training and research are as follows:

 He conducted in-depth block level studies in the northeastern region under the Rural Marketing Studies Project, which resulted in setting up of rural marketing service centers (RMCs). The Inter Agency Coordination Committee (IACC), Govt. of India, sponsored the project.

 To boost up and revamp the district level cooperative movement, he carried out intensive Integrated Cooperative Development Projects(ICDP), sponsored by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) in various districts of Bihar and northeastern region.

 He was associated with the national project on Ancillarisation of Indian Industrysponsored by Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI). He conducted Marketing Research projects for High Technology-based Aluminum and Downstream Productssponsored by the Directorate of Technical Development, Govt. of Bihar: Scientific Glassware and Bottlessponsored by a Bihar Govt. undertaking and Building Boardssponsored by Mica Trading Corporation of India. He was associated with the preparation of Service Manualfor the employees of a Bihar Govt. undertaking.

 He coordinated and provided support to NPC’s international and national seminars on Corporate Planningand Informal Sector.

 He led the marketing research project on Technology Upgradation and Marketing Strategiesfor prominent crafts of Bihar sponsored by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts); Productivity Improvement in Lacquerware Craftand Productivity in Indian Lock Industry.

 He led and coordinated the Intensive Village and DOT Level Study of the Village Public Telephonesin UP. The Department of Telecommunication, Govt. of India sponsored the project. 

 He also undertook the project on the Role of UP State Sugar Corporation as a Growth Centreand Revision of National Classification of Occupationssponsored by the Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India.

 He was a faculty in several national, regional and corporate training programmes for workers, supervisors, executives and managers in the areas of Marketing, HRD and Management Developmentprominent among them being Modular Sales Trainingsponsored by COOPTEX; Benefit Selling Techniquessponsored by Bihar Rajya Beej Nigam and MARCOFED, Environmental Issues in Marketing, Productivity Improvement of Salespersons, Marketing- a Must for Public Sector Executivesand Marketing Management for Higher Productivity.

 Several of his professional papers and articles have been published in prominent dailies and periodicals like the Economic Times and the NPC Productivity Journal. He also reviewed professional books and acted in a Films Division documentary A Day with Gopal.

 He continues to share his professional expertise and experience under the rejuvenated banner Management-Mantra Training & Consultancy (MMTC), the gateway of the Management-Mantra Samiti (MMS), a non-profit NGO registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860.

Personal:

Mr. VD Srivastava has a loving wife Sudha, a housewife. They have a son Manish, MCA currently working as an Account Manager with NIIT Technologies Ltd., Bangalore He is married to Juhi, also a Software Engineer who worked for Satnam IT Solutions, Singapore as their IT Manager- Major Accounts. They have two naughty sons Yash and Aayush. Mr. Srivastava has a daughter, Sharmila, a Software Engineer once a Senior Faculty, NIIT. She is married to Mr. NK Lall, BE (Electrical), PGDBM, PGDMM, Head (Proposals) with Tyco Thermal Controls India (P) Ltd., Noida. They have a daughter Vishakha fondly called Gullababa by Mr. Srivastava. Not to forget loving Caesar, a five-year old German Shepherd very much attached to him.
