Chris Travis wears many hats. He is the Managing Partner of Sentient Architecture, LLC , a full service architecture firm. He is the creator of the Truehome Workshop , a systematic method for creating homes that fit the life goals, values, tastes, lifestyle, emotional needs and budgets of real people.
The method gives people the ability to use their homes to improve their lives. Christopher offers seminars and workshops, and takes speaking engagement about his unique approach to changing living space.
He is also the CEO of Nidiant Corporation, an Internet start-up that has recently launched the Truehome.net website. Truehome and Travis' unique approach to "emotional architecture: were the subject of a major article in the New York Times Home section, Go Magazine , and other national and internation media in 2008.
Mr. Travis is a poet and the author of Deadspace Poetry
,
a book of verse and images. He is also a master carpenter, a furniture
maker, a song-writer and guitarist, a wilderness canoeist, a children’s
advocate, a humorist and public speaker.
Truehome Workshop seminars for both homeowners and design professionals are currently being scheduled in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, Texas in 2009. Other locatons and private consultations are available upon request.
I also take public speaking engagements. Some are paid, and others - particularly to academic and professional groups - I sometimes scholarship or do for expenses only as I am promoting "human centered" design.
