I have fifteen years experience teaching Horticulture at an adult education facility.
My formal qualifications in Ornamental and Production Horticulture were gained from the University of Sydney (Orange campus) and TAFE SA.
My practical experience has come from working in the Floriculture industry for twelve years, the Nursery industry for two and garden design for two years.
I have started two local groups, one on gardening the other on herbs which have been running successfully for over twelve years.
My passion is teaching but I do have a fondness for herbs. I have been involved in many projects, both within the teaching facility and outside.
My own garden is what I like to call 'relaxed', meaning I do not subscribe to formally clipped and controlled topiary or hedges but rather allow the plants to grow in their natural shape with little effort from me. I have many, many fruit trees and other interesting edibles along with herbs and the usual vegetables.
I also teach Bio-dynamic gardening for our local BD group at their field days and I also encourage fauna, whatever type, into my garden.
