What we watch daily is the dish that feeds our thoughts. Today, let me serve you with pride the most elite delicacy our world has to offer.
For the last twenty years, something magical is happening among the human race. The past ten years, it is becoming even more intensive. Awareness. In the 21st century, the human race, for the first time in its known history, has the potential to communicate and work all together around the globe, like a brain. The media, on the other hand, is constantly brainwashing the folks with negative news, some of them real, others not. Yes. Some of them are real, like plastic in the oceans and deforestation. All of them, the results of the most real danger. Human greed and lack of empathy. Some others though, are fake news, all painted in the same color of fear and exaggeration. Why? Because people that work behind the cameras have studied human psychology and they know in-depth that our brains are addicted to the feeling of fear and negativity.
This is where the majority of people find comfort for some reason or another. These people want to sell and people that find comfort in negativity and gossiping will eventually buy. This is how it works and this is how huge companies earn their humble living, for decades. If you ask me, some people deserve this kind of living, because they are shit. Perhaps their way of life is a kind of justice. This is the hell of ignorance they have created and in today world, this is a choice.
And now let’s be serious, for the other part of our society that doesn’t deserve this kind of addiction. Because, yes, the way we think is an addiction and we can choose the thoughts that we can get addicted to. What we inhale mentally become our thoughts. After a long time, these thoughts become a daily habit and finally turns into the addiction of our mind. This can be a great privilege or a curse, depending on what we choose to inhale. I know life is hard, but really it is as simple as that. As the years pass, the kind of our thought addiction can lead our minds to either happiness or depression.
Depression can be caused by inside factors for sure, and I am not the right person to speak about that. Doctors are. I think, however, that there is a big amount of people suffering from depression, that are victims of their addiction to the negative lane of thinking. What we can do to help ourselves deal with depression caused by outside factors, is level up the information we get. It is simple and free basically, it’s all about making decisions daily!
In today world we have the option to skip media and society’s dogmas and decide to brainwash ourselves with real and positive facts that are happening every day since this beautiful world was formed. Trust me. Do this for 25 days intensively and watch the magic in the quality of your thinking.
We are so lucky to be alive in this era. We have the potential to reach a level of knowledge people in the whole human history would die for. The German astronomer Johannes Kepler would trade his life to be in your shoes and have the ability to interact with people even on youtube! Nicolas Tesla would cry if he could get in touch with people with the same Intellectual curiosity and share ideas, as we can do today! Elisabeth Blackwell would love to even just have a cup of coffee with another girl in the university cafeteria!
Definitely, all of them would beg to watch even one episode of the series that we are about to talk right now. “Cosmos — a personal voyage” is a series of thirteen episodes, made in 1979. It is a gift of the scientist Carl Sagan to humanity. Not many people have watched it but this is a part of the psychology we discussed above. And this is the reason we cannot have good things, obviously. A quote says “If people sat outside and look at the stars every night, I bet they would live a lot differently”. Imagine how people would live if they watched Cosmos!
It is a magic combination of poetry, wonderful music and generous teaching of scientific facts narrated by the gorgeous but humble, Carl Sagan. It is pure art.
By the end of the first episode, you will have a circle view of how the world was formed. As episodes go by, you will get to know scientist, genius humans who reached a supreme level of knowledge but stayed humble and contributed to the world we are experiencing today. By the end of the 13th and last episode, feel proud of yourself that you dedicated this time for your mental growth.
