WAYNE EISENBERG
Founder and Executive Director
WE Center Ministries Inc.
Born and raised in N.Y., he was a run-away at 8 years old. By the age of 10 he was drinking. As an adolescence his drinking and drug use progressed to addictive proportions while his family moved to the Philadelphia area. His only sense of self worth came in the form of athletics where he excelled in baseball, football and basketball. However due to misplaced priorities and a love for alcohol and drugs he became a "has been" at the age of 17.
As a young man, after several D.U.I.’s, he was persuaded by a judge to join the U.S. Army instead of going back to jail. While in the Army his alcoholism/drug addiction increased and his unmanageability included the stockade and a trip to his final rehabilitation stay. At this point he started his road to recovery and after a spiritual awakening he began his career of helping others with their addictions. During his 8 years in the Army, one of his many duties was as a drug and alcohol counselor, where he served in the United States and Europe. After leaving the Army, he worked professionally in the drug and alcohol field and has been for over 29 years, including the Founding of The WE Center in 1996, where his philosophy is that no one is turned down for lack of money, or Religious preferences.
