For the past thirteen years, Byron has focused his practice exclusively on applied Emotional Intelligence (EI) skill-building training. He pioneered a model for EI skill-building that combines classroom training with personalized coaching, ensuring each person develops sustainable skills relevant to his or her work and personal life. He has delivered over 200 presentations and facilitated over 50 workshops on EI. As a self-professed “recovering engineer,” Byron views the development of EI skills as a powerful approach to achieve strategic objectives, lead change and create resilient, high performing organizational cultures. He recently released his latest book, Smart Emotions for Busy Business People and is published in Global CEO, The Corporate Board Journal, Training Today, and Performance Improvement. Prior to his focus on Emotional Intelligence, he designed and developed over 15 different training and education programs for organizations such as GE, Motorola, and Whirlpool and held positions in Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Human Resource, Management Development, and Corporate Education. Byron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Xavier University.
