You are just a pebble that washed up on the beach. You glisten in the sunshine and it reveals your sparkle and uniqueness. You are just one on a beach filled with millions. You can be found in streams, rivers, lakes and oceans. Wherever you are someone is always drawn to you. You are a pebble in the sea of life. Regardless of waves, currents and floods, you shine even brighter, revealing your magnificent colors and shapes.

In comparison, we are people in a world full of others. We all shine bright even after weathering a storm. We all have unique characters within us in our own colors, shapes and sizes. While strong currents carry us out to treacherous waters, we lay basking in the sun when it is over, shining ever so beautifully.

In this metaphor I chose pebbles and instead of rocks. Rocks show more strength but pebbles reveal our smallness in a vast world. If you go to a nearby creek and see all the pebbles that are at the bottom, it makes that small, simple creek look so amazing. Just one small pebble in that creek makes a difference in the beauty that surrounds it.

I have a small pebble on my desk, it keeps me humble and reminds me of how vast the world truly is and how significant one little pebble can be.

Years to come we may not be here, but the pebbles, sand and the trees will be. It is how we treat others along the way that will reveal how bright or how dull we will shine.

I will return this pebble where it came from so it can be amongst others to shine and take its place among others so it can share in its beauty . We all shine by ourselves and in the presence of others. So remember the tides and the strong currents and just know that one tiny pebble made it through, and so can you.

When someone smiles and says hello, do not turn the other cheek, because you are just a pebble amongst a million more that makes this world a better, more beautiful place.

In a world of pebbles, no one is better than anyone else. They are all the same. No self- inflated egos or better than thou’s attitude will work for the common good of mankind. We are side by side working together to make this a more beautifying world around us. So treat each other kindly, we are all just pebbles in this sea of life.

In life, we are a beach filled with pebbles. Share your love, hope and inspiration to others so everyone in the world can flourish and this world will become a better place.
