A recent New Zealand study claims that the electronic cigarette would allow you to quit smoking smoothly. However, the e-cigarette can also encourage some to take up smoking if we are to believe US statistics. According to them, the number of teenagers adopting electronic cigarettes has doubled in 1 year, reaching 1.7 million young Americans.

With flavors like strawberry, apple or tarte tatin, American teens tend to confuse electronic cigarettes with sweets. According to figures from the CDC (Center for Contyrole and Disease Prevention), the number of middle and high school students addicted to electronic cigarettes would have doubled in 1 year. Today, more than 1.7 million young people regularly smoke electronic cigarettes.

Worse still, according to the CDC, 160,000 young people have tested the e-cigarette without ever having tried to smoke a real cigarette before. We are therefore entitled to wonder if the electronic cigarette, considered less dangerous, would not be a first step with active smoking ... Among high school students, experimentation at least once with the electronic cigarette has increased from 4.7% in 2011 to 10% in 2012, and its current use from 1.5% to 2.8%. Almost 7.2% have never smoked a conventional cigarette. Among college students, experimentation with the product fell from 1.4% to 2.7% over the same period.

“The rise in electronic cigarette use is worrying because [the nicotine in electronic cigarettes] is a highly addictive drug and many young people who start with it can be addicted. condemned to be dependent all their life.explains Top dietician in Gurgaon

Because, as recently indicated by the magazine 60 million consumers, the electronic cigarette is not harmless . It would contain carcinogenic substances. In 3 out of 10 cases, the levels of formaldehyde, or formalin, classified as carcinogenic by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) "flirt" with those of traditional cigarettes. However, the French tobacco company would like to point out that the electronic cigarette remains infinitely less toxic than the classic cigarette anyway . In the United States, a regulation common to all states should prohibit the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors because, at present, each state has its own legislation. In France, the same ban should soon see the light of day.
