During our most intense moments in life we reach for a hand to hold. As we sit and wait for the doctor to come and speak to us, as we wait for results, as we watch someone attain their goals, we reach for another soul.
Through the joys and pains, the excitement and tears we hold on to another to share in those moments. We share in the compassion of how precious life is. Waiting on news is one of the most trying of times. The wait wreaks havoc on the nerves and nothing eases that like the touch of another human being.
The hand of a child holding on to yours makes life seem that nothing is impossible. The world is an open book full of endless journeys and you see it through a child’s eyes.
So take my hand, walk with me, see all the possibilities that life holds. Life is full of boundless treasures to see and imagine if only you are willing. Sometimes that first step is the hardest, to break out of your shell, to shed the skin of the known to open up to the unknown.
Test yourself, to overcome and continue to grow. Take someone’s hand to share in your journey. Just as you take someone’s hand in yours, also offer your hand to someone during good times and during their struggles. Life is not only lived it is shared.
Reach past your limits and become limitless in your thinking and in your actions. Do those things that until this moment you have only dreamt of doing. Feel the blessings of those around you.
Just as you awake, vibrant and full of life, someone, somewhere is dreading the start of their day. They are not vibrant and full of life, life has gotten them down. Reach for their hand and let them know that it’s going to be ok. It is amazing what a simple act of taking their hand can do to their soul.
This is not just for the lonely; it is also for the brave. There are people who have accomplished great things but are afraid to open up to others, to let them in. Let them know that it’s ok and that the human touch, the human spirit can break down whatever walls were built.
With the holiday’s approaching we realize how blessed we are. Some people’s souls are hurting and the holiday’s become a dreadful time of year. Reach out to those people and let them know you are there. Open your hearts and your homes. We are all blessed but some in different ways.
Just remember, holding someone’s hand or giving a hug goes a long way.
