Watch your body language . When standing around in a group of people, keep your head up. Look people in the eye. Smile frequently. These are the signs of a person who is confident and comfortable with himself. A sign of strength all by itself.
Slouching, looking at the floor frequently, nodding like a bobble-head all give off the wrong impression. This type of body language sends all the wrong impressions. You won't even get to introducing yourself if you look like your looking for worms.
Do yourself a favor. If you don't know how to dance, learn. Most guys won't get on the dance floor because they're too embarrassed. Girls love to dance. This will also make you more confident and help you with your body posture.
Simple, but effective changes like this are key.
