A Noid is bothered by everyone and everything. Everyone and everything can bug the heck out of a Noid all the time. Noids let themselves been annoyed all the time. A Noid lives on being annoyed.

What’s that all about? First of all, it’s a bad habit. It doesn’t do any good to try to figure out why we let things bother us, annoy us. All we know is we have been doing it for as long as we can remember. Most don’t even know they’re being a Noid. Most of the world is totally on automatic. Someone says something to us, we automatically get annoyed. Someone does something, we get annoyed. The newspaper annoys us, the weather annoys us, whatever, everything annoys us! In fact, we live the life of a Noid, most of us, all the time.

When we are a Noid, annoyed by all kinds of things, we are in a state of misery and suffering. When we are constantly annoyed, we have made an unconscious decision to be bothered, to be irritated, to be frustrated. We have said, in effect, I’m going to let myself get annoyed anytime anything happens that I don’t like. I’m going to drive myself nuts with all the things that make me crazy every day, all the things that annoy me, that drive me up a wall. I’m going to keep a mental list. Here are a few examples: Somebody says something I don’t like or they say something that “pushes my buttons.” The neighbor’s dog is barking and making me insane. I just hate it when you look at me that way. I’m not going to drive down that street because I hate the color those people painted their house. I’m not going to that party because I know he will be there and every word that comes out of his mouth just makes my skin crawl. We even have our own Noid lingo.

We have to start out by admitting, when we are annoyed, we are doing it. When we are allowing our self to be annoyed we are giving our power to whoever or whatever comes along. When we let someone push our buttons, we are saying, ok, now you control me, you own me. They do own us, because we follow them right down into negativity. We are saying, in effect, go ahead and have my life, do with it what you may. If you choose to make me miserable, I will go right along with you. When we get annoyed, we have to see that. We have to see that we have given our power over to something or someone that bothers us. We have to see we have gotten ourselves into fear and anger and are blinded by what is going on.

We have to ask our self, how does it help me to be annoyed all the time? How does it help me to let myself get dragged down by being annoyed?

What’s the way out? The way out is always up. The way out is to see what is going on. When something annoying comes up, we see what is happening and we make a decision to do something different. We decide not to get annoyed. In the Release Technique we get the tools to be able to turn any negative into a positive. We get the skills to be able to decide. Something happens, someone says something and we are able to decide to stay positive in spite of it. We are able to decide not to be annoyed and stay positive in spite of whatever is going on.

In the Release Technique we learn when someone bothers us, they’re doing us a favor. They’re helping us. Because they’re showing us something inside of us that can be bothered, some button that can be pushed. If someone bothers us, hurts our feelings, they are showing us some negativity that is running our life. They are showing us unhappiness that is inside us.

When we have the tools in the Release Technique , we say, thank you, to someone for showing me, I am still a Noid. We look inside, we use our Release Technique skills and at that moment we have become more positive, more happy.
