Free hosting sites like YouTube can help drive traffic to your websites, sales letters and opt-in pages. But how do you know if the video is interesting enough to your viewers and whether it is converting into sales? Following are some simple tips to good video production will help make the connection to your viewers.
Be sure you know your target market. Make videos that appeal to your market and are not alienating them by dressing different, using inappropriate language or presenting a confusing image. Image is what you build using videos and the visual medium can expose alot. Your viewers should immediately feel comfortable as soon as the video starts. Building trust and rapport with your audience is what video marketing is all about.
Make sure you have clear calls to action in your video. While viewers are engaged in the production, they can be led suggestively to other resources where you may offer additional services. A call to action can be as simple as a phone number or web address across the bottom of the video, this is called a watermark or lower third. The call to action should be verbal or visual as well. This helps reinforce what you want your viewers to do after they are done watching.
Testimonials are great ways to convince viewers that your product or service is sound and can work for them too. Showing satisfied customers using your products or telling viewers how much you helped them is very persuasive. Everyone wants to know that they can be helped, fit in with a group or they are not alone in their concerns. It is good customer service as well, if you can show how your product is used, proper assembly or intent. Don't be afraid to show off your products in your promotional video on YouTube. That is what it's for!
If you have a company, show off your employees, the CEO or anyone that can build trust and integrity in the product or service. But keep your videos as short as possible...3 - 5 minutes is good enough. Attention spans are short on the Internet and too long or boring of a video will have your viewers clicking off too soon.
