Significance of Simhastha

Millions of pilgrims, sadhus & sanyasis (monks & sages), musicians, artisans and all kinds of craftsmen are gathering on the sacred banks of river Kshipra. A drop of the nectar of immortality fell here during the öght between the gods and the demons when the universe was örst created. On astrologically determined days, millions of holy men and pilgrims take bath in the River Kshipra to wash away karmic impurities and to help the soul önd its way to freedom. It is by far the largest gathering for month long of pilgrims in the world with 50 million people embarking on the once in a lifetime spiritual journey, chanting the gods above, on the magical banks of river Kshipra.
