Why Raise Your Expectations?

If you're absolutely contented with your current condition in life, you might be thinking why you'd want to raise your expectations. Well, when you want more, you'll push yourself to accomplish that much more.

I want you to think about a time when you expected not to achieve much out of a situation. I bet you weren't that bothered with the outcome because you didn't really care, but at the same time you most likely weren't driven and satisfied either.

Even thou having greater expectations will open you up and make you more susceptible to failure, there are also great rewards too. At the end of the day it's worth it because a negative experience is still something that you can learn from; but a positive experience may grant you one of those life-defining moments that make you happy to be living.

Here are five great ways to raise your expectations:

1. Go and do difficult things. Going to your limits can only be accomplished by doing difficult things. Ok, you might not achieve success straight away, but when you do it can be the starting point for doing even better and harder things in the future.

2. Increase your comfort zone. Staying in your comfort zone is another way of always playing it safe. When you increase your comfort zone, you open yourself up to new and electrifying experiences.

3. Set yourself a Challenge. Give yourself a challenge or make a dare with yourself. The thing is if you're dared to do a certain thing, you're very likely going to carry it out!

4. Go on a survival course. A survival course can show you how to get back to the essentials. As well as teaching you about basic survival, a survival course can also teach you about yourself. You can discover more about your abilities, strengths and weaknesses, then continue to test yourself in the future.

5. Discover new things. Start to work on being a more flexible and open person. When you do, you'll probably find that new situations and experiences just fall into your lap. It's a great way of opening up your horizons, and with new wisdom and skills under your belt, you'll be able to elevate the expectations of what you can do.

Your thoughts are very influential. When you make the attempt to raise your expectations, you're also reinforcing your abilities and self-worth. You'll start to see yourself in an optimistic light and be more equipped to accomplish your ultimate goals. Good luck!
